Boardworld x Richard Simpkin - Michael Hutchence 8.25" Skateboard Deck - Self Portrait
Limited to 50 units, the 'Self Portrait' deck features a hand-drawn self portrait of Michael Hutchence, drawn for Richard Simpkin in 1990 and scanned from its original document, along with hand-written INXS lyrics scanned from their original document.
This deck is one of three limited edition skateboards released in collaboration with Richard Simpkin, Sydney-based photographer and a close friend of Michael, each featuring photographs or scanned documents from Richard's collection.
"I first met Michael in 1989. Not long after, I found myself at Rhinoceros Recording Studio in Sydney while INXS were recording their 1990 album, X. I left school around this time to chase my dream of becoming a photographer, and Michael, generous as ever, took me under his wing and let me learn by photographing him. Over the next eight years, we formed an incredible friendship, and whenever we were together he gave me the freedom to capture him through my lens."

All items are available for click & collect from our Newtown Store or St Peters Warehouse.
Simply select the Click & Collect option at checkout, choose your preferred location, and we'll endeavour to have it ready within 4 hours during Warehouse trading hours (Mon-Fri, 10am-4pm).

We typically have all orders shipped out within 24 hours of your purchase (often a lot quicker), except on weekends.
Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday during normal business hours. If you purchase on the weekend, your order will nearly always ship on Monday.
We ship the vast majority of our products with Australia Post. Generally, you can expect 2-7 days shipping time for Regular Post, and 1-3 days for Express Post.
