When David Gonzalez pipped Guy Mariano to the SOTY crown in 2012, the fresh-faced 22-year-old seemed destined for a huge career at the top of skateboarding. Unfortunately for David and the skateboarding world, injuries and other circumstances meant that wasn't to be. At 29, it almost feels like he's making up for lost time – and he's doing it the right way. This part feels like it's frozen in 2012, and there's something pretty authentic about that.
