Haha Azz
I had a loan for the car so I need to pay that back. I think I will have a couple of k left tho most of that will go to my parents for the outback.
I never want to buy the imprezza when I did the plan was to save up first. So since I have a current acceptable car I may as well keep it and save far an upgrade.
That’s awesome news, Kim. Stick it to the man!
Congrats Kim! That’s awesome news!
Great news kim!
Thanks everyone
Stick it to the man!
Seriously!! Can you believe it! I am sure most of you thought i had no chance. And there was many times where i was going to give up, thinking i was wasting my own time too!
The weird thing was that they had contacted me 2 weeks ago and asked for bank statements to prove I had the money in my bank acct for the subsequent months. my “lawyer” had advised me not to do it. And I was weighing up whether to all not. I could prove it so i was thinking of doing it, and was about to start when out of the blue I got a call yesterday with the news. Seems they continued the “investigation” whilst waiting for me. And resolved it!
Those who know the story know they had stuffed up many things with my policy which was the basis of my argument - and it turns out that another system error had happened!
Yeah, I honestly didn’t reckon that ya were gonna get a cent out of them!!!!!
You should go get a Lottery Ticket for sure!!!!!
That’s great news. I’ve had a few arguments similar before but all have been things I thought I could win but to continue with it would probably cost me more than it’s worth (parking fines etc). When I had my bike accident on my first bike, I tried to pin it on the council for things like the light was covered and the round about sign was missing (including a crest in the road that was un-signed) but to take it to court would have cost me more than the bike was worth. For a thousand dollars, I just copped it and moved on.
It probably helped that you had a lawyer with you which meant you had all the correct wording and codes etc too.
Yeah I know you thought that Mizu!
But at the beginning i made me feel better to TRY! Then I started to wane and seriously this week my “lawyer” and I had a discussion about whether it was now the time to get a real one (which i would lose most of my winnings to fees, so was considering giving up).
And advise to anyone who is going thru any dispute is to get the ombudsman involved. I didn’t at first. I sent my first letter of demand. Which they wrote back very sternly that i was in the wrong the policy states it is my responsibility to have money in the acct for the direct debit blah blah blah.
That was actually for the “customer Service team leader” so I knew it hadn’t gone up the chain. Once the ombudsman got involved it started receiving emails from the “Dispute Resolutions Department”.
The best thing was the “customer Service team leader” was the one who rung me yesterday and he apologised for his orignal letter saying that he should have personally investigated my case more rather than dismissing it!
Yeah, Ombudsmen, Dept Fair Trading etc etc are a good way to annoy the shit out of businesses, cause they get caught up in a whole heap of paper work regardless wether they are in the right or wrong in the first place!!!!!
They apparently get fine instantly when you contact them as well. Regardless of the outcome.
The Ombudsman didn’t actually get involved. As the company get a right of reply (the ombudsman tell the company that you have contacted them though) that expired on the 15th! Tomorrow. So they took it down to the wire!
