2011 Innersection Recap
Don’t know about any of the rest of you but Innersection is my fave surf movie of late, put together by Taylor Steele, the most innovative, progressive and generation defining surf movie maker in the last 20 years by far in my estimation. He made the movies that I used to watch literally over and over and over between surfs when I was younger.
Innersection is a new project where the surfers themselves get to put together their own sections with the help of videographers and editors and submit their entries to the Innersection website where the public get to vote on heats. Eventually the winners of those heats make it into the final movie whereupon an eventual grand winner is crowned after another round of public voting. It’s an interesting concept explained more fully in this vid.

I liked Jack McCoys Billabong Challenge contest series vids, you know the ones where they got a select group of surfers and took them to an awesome spot and they judged them based on a few surfs, I really liked those.
That was awesome. Huge backside 360 at 0:42. Matt Meola’s part was insane. I remember watching it last year.
