Attempted my first backflip today in booterville. Didn’t land it but it still felt like just building up to throwing it was progression!

Back Barrel Roll with a 180 in it??

How the hell did u do that?!

shock

Really good first try though.

My first 3 tries went: Wimp out, wimp out, huck - sky - ground (omg I’m going to make it) - toe edge - face.

I’m trying to post you vid up dude cause it won’t work. But I can’t do it cause it’s through your facebook.
Post the link from youtube(or vimeo or where it comes from) and then we can embed it for u.

Props for getting a 360 in the big park!

tracvks, that’s a solid back 3 you have there. Was that your first attempt?

I think with a bit of practise (to get used to the rotation, feel of the jump, speed, etc.) you will be stomping them with full control every time. Try keeping your arms down by your side, which will make it even more solid. These days I’m very conscious of what my arms are doing, so I really think about keeping them down by my side (think Torstein style). It was actually Aidy (and our other friend Graham) who drilled this into my head a few years back.

Once you feel you have full control of your rotation, throw in a grab to make it even more stable and stylish.

But you’re doing great mate. You should be really proud of your progression.

seriously appreciate it rider, nah i wish that was my first attempt. i built up 3s in lichardt and took it to front valley but when taking them to fv my main issue was washing off too much speed before the take off and knuckling or even catching an edge through the landing (cause i was so stoked on landing haha). totally know what you mean about my arms too - thats kinda what i meant by sketch, my arms are flapping about haha. looking to get it a bit more floaty this season and to add that style!

hey stamford, thanks man smile last year was my first year with a season pass (21 days on snow) but before that i have only done day trips (probably 3-10 a year since 2008) to perisher and a week in new zealand in 2010.

Man, you’re killing it after so few days on the snow. I mean, you’ve done under 100 days by the sound of it, and your progression is really advanced for that amount of days. Props to you!

I knew what you were saying about the sketchy arms, hence my comment on it. I find actively thinking about it before and during the jump really helps. Just think “arms down, arms down, arms down” - seems to work most the time haha.

I meant if it was your first time on that particular jump. Either way, you’r doing super well. It’s really important to leave on a clean edge (carving), and the rest of your rotation comes from your head, shoulders and hips. Speed is your friend, which I’m sure you’ve now worked out. Spot your landing early, and… stomp!

I’m really looking forward to hearing how you progress this season.

thanks mate, can honestly say ive had ALOT of stacks though rocker

so keen to get some more videos up, since there is some rails on fv at the moment ive been attempting my first front boards - i can feel i dont have the right upper body movements at all which ill try to perfect but my main problem is not getting my board over the rail enough or inline with the angle of the rail hence i slip out on my toe edge and bust my shins haha not a good time hahaha

great work tracvks, that’s a huge back 3.

You’re in good shape in the air even though it probably didn’t feel like it.  When you do the same trick on that jump a few times you’ll get more used to and confident with how it feels.

When you do, try and think about working a grab in, i just go with what feels natural, I used to like mellon, now i tend to do stalefish… that should make you feel more stable.

Keep sending it and keep posting your vids plz.
