a wee update: completely failed to learn switch front boards on a super short and wide down box, it hurt as my best mate can do them and a pretty girl was in attendence that day…..
On the plus side I feel way more comfy doing switch boardslides on a few harder features and I learnt how to do backlips on down pipes…sometimes….bloody scary when it doesn’t quite lock in!
Anyways hopefully more soon.
Maybe you were focused on the wrong feature, Aidy?????

He’s lip sliding rails, when he should be nose pressing boxes

With a couple of tail grabs added into the mix?????
Solid advice gentlemen, next time let’s hope.

I would like to see a beef curtains off a donkey dick or rocket rail….............
I think that if ya gonna ride a Donkey Dick, ya pretty much gonna end up with Beef Curtains anyways?????
Seeing the Aus season has started. Time for us to start posting in this thread!
Only had two days on snow on opening weekend, so not really much to post, besides my goals.
From day 1 I said to myself that for every run I do regular I am going to do one switch as well. I want to spend just as much time riding switch as I do regular. Every run I made over opening weekend had pretty much a just as much switch in it as regular.
My goal for this season is to have my switch riding on par with my regular riding. Big call to make seeing I have been riding regular for how ever many years and only the past few decided to work on switch.
But I can safely say, that even after two days this season (and working on it a shit load last year), my switch riding is already up there with my normal. In some areas it is actually technically better.
Carving for example. I believe my technique on my switch highspeed carving is better than my normal. Reasons being I started learing to switch carve with the knowlegde of how to do it properly, with out having years of (little) bad habits to correct. I feel I can bomb any blue run in any conditions and actually carve well switch.
So stoked on that so far. Honestly I am actually enjoying riding down the hill switch prob more than normal. Just feels refreshing.
Thats all for now
Yesterday I was doing standstill 3’s in my backyard on the grass.. There is no snow in Sydney so I’m making do with the wet grass and old board :D

Yeah I want to work on switch too. When I started snowboarding, I had never done any other board sports, so I wasn’t totally sure about my footedness. After agonising over it for years, I’ve recently come to realise it actually doesn’t matter a damn, and in fact it might even be good if I’m not strongly set in one direction.
The other main goal for me is to really get my body position correct and perfect my carving. Once the body position is locked in, I want to start getting some small airs and also move on from the very basic butters I can do now.
Last year my switch riding worked out great for park. I felt comfortable doing half cabs (switch fronside 180) of 15-20ft jumps
I’ll be practicing my switch riding heaps as well, my girlfriend started snowboarding this season and rides goofy (I ride regular) so it will be a good way for both of us to practice, and I still get to work on my riding
In the park I want to work on my 3’s (FS and BS) and get spinning on and off boxes/rails.
Goals:
Spinning off my heel edge more. I want to spin back 3’s off my heels. Spin switch back 1’s off my heels.
Ride everything switch.
Get at least 1 day/fortnight off to do a hike/skin. (snow dependent)
Telemark better on my split board.
I’m so glad to see this thread getting some hits, it’d be dope this season to get some video up. things you’re stoked on, things that are comedy…. I would post something to get this started but to be honest i’m a technological dunce so i don’t know how to.
