WHEN IN WHISTLER - EPISODE 1: WE ARE BACK
The snow is officially here! Along with a million people…
Took me over an hour to get to rendezvous from the village…
It seemed like it was super busy because Alpine didn’t open. Winds of 80-100km/h, so they chose not to run the lifts or the peak 2 peak, from what I heard. Tomorrow will be epic in the alpine though!
I’m going snowmobiling tomorrow, kinda want to get into the untouched stuff. But from what I’ve heard, snowmobiling will be unreal with a fresh 20+cm
yeeeeeeeew the powder has returned
The snow the past four days has been awesome!!!! Had the best time. So tired. Tomorrow is gonna be sick too. Absolutely dumping atm. had 5cm in the past hour cover my freshly laid beers outside.
Was planning on doing a massive post from the past month tonight but internet has been super tempermental. Managed to upload most the pics i wanted to share onto photobucket, but havent had a chance to do the full write up and now heading to mates house for a drink.
but in a very shorty summary I have had the best time in whistler so far for the past month. Been amazing to say the least. Met so many awesome people. have done 25 days riding and 3 days sledding/lil bit of riding in the backcountry and maybe a day or two of rest. Been full on.
Riding most of the time out of bounds in in all the awesome spots off whistler. Done a bit of hiking off Blackcomb glacier.
Had the pleasure of riding with Ricco, Kyle and Lester all BW members and heaps of other awesome people.
Planning on taking Saturday off so will spend a day catching up on all the BW news and do a proper post.
shred on
Awesome mate. Very keen to hear about the sledding. How did that opportunity come about?
Planning to go up tmrw but changed my mind cuz of the wet snow/rain in the forecast + according to finney alpine might not be open. Gonna go ride on saturday, hopefully gonna be epic.
@K2: Wow 25 days of riding, I only got 12 days so far myself ahaha. That’s awesome Brad. (Btw, my name is spelled Rico haha ).
Good day today. Got 1 good pow run at 7th the the line got super crazy. Went and did couloir extreme, a bit tracked out but the snow is still good. Finally did spanky’s today after 3 seasons not doing it. Got to say it is now my favorite area/runs out of the 2 mountains. Snow was chopped up and not pow/fluffy but still a good experience nonetheless.
Finally did Spanky’s skip, nice!
Look forward to hearing more, K2! Sounds awesome!
