Ahoy chaps and chapettes,
I’ve been thinking about getting a burton nug for a while now and I’ve found one for cheap in Australia BUT its a 146. Now they say to downsize between 8-10cms with a nug and at the moment I’m riding a 56 bataleon so length wise I’m ok but it’s my fat 90kg ass that has me concerned as burton weight rates the 46 up to 85kg’s. I want the nug for japow shinanigans and I’d hate to get the 46 and then sink like a stone. I’ve read about 8000000 pages on the net of people arguing for and against the nug but no real consensus as to if a tall heavy boned Trent with rad-pants would be able to ride the mid length nugizzle.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially if you’ve had some nug experience, if I should grab the 46 or hold out for a 50?

Hey mate, sauce was stoked on riding the 146 Nug he demoed at the 2011 Boardworld Shred, and he’s a big boy. When I picked up my 2012 Nug from Burton HQ, they gave me a 146 and insisted it would be great for me, and I was 96kg at the time. I ended up swapping with a mate for the 2011 150 he had in stock at his board store, mainly because I liked the look of it better.
I’d say don’t worry about the weight. The side effects and scoop nose will keep you floating
