Where is the better snow Resort?

What’s your favourite?

The change in terrain on Perisher, or do you prefer the gentle intermediates of Thredbo?

i think perisher, although i started snowboarding in thredbo, i find that perisher is bigger in a way. So i think thredbo is a good place to start but perisher has so much more options

I prefer the steeper, longer runs at Thredbo. There are lots of good areas on a powder day if you know the mountain. I have always found Perisher to have mellower terrain, with less vertical - doesn’t suit my riding.

I’ve mainly ridden at perisher just due to the package deals you get staying at the station to save money which was the only way I could afford to get down there back in the day with mates. Definitely agree that there isn’t a whole lot of steeper stuff there with the exception of off the back of blue cow and the whole area is pretty mellow.

hoping to get to thredbo at some stage this season since last time i was there was around 13 or so years ago when I used to ski. Only downside I’ve heard about thredbo is that it can be pretty busy on the weekends? anyone able to elaborate on this?

i agree, thredbo has always been my favourite place to carve it up but perisher is okay

I now longer live in NSW however when I used to ride there, the preference tended to be Perisher - I found whenever I went to Thredbo the snow tended to be pretty average. My most memorable powder days in Oz were at Perisher.

I prefer Thredbo, good memories there! I have always had the greatest times there. Perisher is good, but there is just something about Thredbo I can’t turn away from.

Thredbo, perisher just doesn’t have that village vibe

im doing Thredbo this year so i voted there,

But i have done 2 seasons at Perisher and its good but they just treat their staff like dirt, Time to see if Thredbo do the same!

cant say either as i havent been to either, maybe this year!

Thredbo for me.
I find Perisher too annoying to get around, and generally far too flat.
Thredbo has some awesome areas, and I’ve always found shorter waits for lifts there.

I agree.  Perisher seemed to have good areas, but being unfamiliar it seemed to take me a lot longer to find what looked good on the trail map.  Thredbo seems a bit more straight forward get around the hill.

Once you get used to it, you can find some good spots… For a weekend-week trip. Thredbo has better terrain and parks though.

Also for first timers, you can get a lift+lesson for only $5 extra where as perisher charges $50 for the Lesson.

ive always prefferd perisher cause it has a greater ski area and a more diversity in the style/difficulty of the runs.  the snow is more consistent over the resort as well
