The STOKE thread

Just had my first surf since May 11, unbelievable day for it, 30 degrees and sunny.  Was amusing cause Pink is staying in a house at my local and there was a shit tonne of teenage girls down there sunbaking obviously hoping to catch a glimpse if she came down to the beach.  One of the local guys that lives at the top and takes pics for a living found himself with a massive home ground advantage and scooped the usual paps for the best position and photos.  Pap work is very lucrative, way more so than sports photography, heavy really.

paparazzi photography is the lowest form of profession - they belong in the same group as lawyers and real estate agents. Real estate agents top the list.
All professions make BIG money by ruining other peoples lives yet take no responsibility for their actions.

Pap photogs do not create cleaver or artistic photo’s they are leaches.

If Pink is there, contact her agent get her number invite her on a photoshoot.

NOTE: generic comments - not aimed at your friend or anyone in particular

So Dylan had a big night out last night and called me 8 times plus sent a couple of “call me ASAP” texts. (Not sure on what planet he was that he thought i would answer!!)

Then at 1.26am sent me the following

If you buy some bindings this weekend and RIDE some of Monday (must consult me about them first) I will GIVE you my almost new GNU Carbon Credit snowboard

Hahaha!

I wont be buying new binding this weekend (xmas plane rides cleaned me out!)

Not sure what you have against real estate agents?

Sure they aren’t the best people in the world, they take a percentage of the sale of your house but they generally put in a lot of time and effort into their job to do so. If you are renting and are pissy because they ask to inspect every 3-6 months, they are only doing that for the owner.

And by all means, you can try to sell your house without them but it will be a shit ton harder and there is a good chance you might get screwed worse…

They lie lie lie to get a sale. Way worse than used car sales. And they generally have your entire financial life to play with.
I’m not judging them as people I’m judging their profession - same with solicitors/lawyers. Not so with paparazzi photogs - it takes a person of extremely low moral standards to do that job.

I’ve never met a honest real estate agent - well I have they just didn’t make any money.
Have rented privately a number of times and it was the best experience I’ve ever had. The BS agents spin is beyond me.

Edit: spaz, tsk tsk, please do not type to avoid the really rude word filter, you as a Mod should know better and be ashamed of yourself mad

Not the “lowest”. That spot is reserved for parking cops and left-wing politicians.

LOL Once we were walking through melbourne on a weekday (we had the day off) and were skating round the place, walked passed one and my mate said “oohhff, worst job in melbourne!” ... He (parking inspector) responded with “at least I have a job” hahaha
Just because we had skateboards in our hands, it makes us jobless trash LOL I can guarentee each one of us had a much better job and more respected job than he did

I think you’re being unfair on pap shooters. Celebrities rely on them for the HUGE amount of money they make. For many celebrities, the more they’re ‘bothered’ by the paps, the more they’re worth. Celebrities have no right to pick and choose when and where they want to be ‘bothered’ - the pap shooters don’t work for them.

Celebrity relies on the public’s desire to know about ‘famous’ people’s private lives. The more the public is interested, the more they’ll buy the publications that hire the paps, and the more a ‘celebrity’ is worth. If the public didn’t want to know, they wouldn’t buy the publications that hire the paps - and the less celebrities would be worth.

To be fair, mobile speed camera operators come in below parking cops, but only just. Coming in above parking cops and left-wing politicians, but still below paparazzi photographers, are jobs like those people who club baby seals to death.

Me bad - I generally don’t use bad language, when I do I believe it’s in a relevant manner so I never consider what words used. It wasn’t an attempt to bypass filters that’s how I write swears. But yes, as a mod deserved a wrap over the knuckles.

I saw parking cops let several people off their parking tickets in central Wollongong this week. They would take photo’s and only looked to fine repeat offenders or blatant infringements - like parking for long periods in bus zones.
I don’t blame parking cops but do the politicians who order them to act without leniency. Who regards pollies as people or their role as a profession anyway.

The only way to agree with chucky’s point re paparrizi photogs is to blame celebs. Not gonna do that and not gonna change or defend my view on pap photogs - I been in the position to make big dollars in my years socializing with the famous and as a photog - I had/have compromising photo’s.
I respect people and the art-form.

Wow! That’s almost unheard of!!!

It’s still their decision whether or not to follow those orders. Still, dodgy politicians certainly play their part. Like Clover Moore, who deliberately ensures there’s not enough residential parking spaces to go around so she can make more money constantly fining local residents who have no choice but to park illegally until a space opens up.

Pollies do.

Nah, it’s a group effort.

It’s like drug addiction. Celebs are the drug - and in conjunction with paps, they’re also the manufacturers. The gossip publishers are the dealers, and the general public are the addicts. Without the addicts, there’d be no need for the rest.

Agreed.

The only prob with your statements was the addition of “dodgy” infront of “politician” - not needed, grammatical error, double positive. LOL
