Mick Fanning Wins Billabong Pro Tahiti 2012

Avatar

Congratulations to Dragon’s Mick Fanning for taking out the 2012 Billabong Pro Tahiti over fellow Gold Coast local, Joel Parkinson. In an exciting final, Parkinson posted massive scores early on, only to have Fanning come from behind, scoring a stunning 9.37 and then backing it up with a 9.50 to clinch the victory at Event 5 of 10 on the 2012 ASP World Championship Tour.

This is Fanning’s 15th elite victory, and the second of this season, following on from Mick’s historic win at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach in April. The two-time World Champion is now firmly leading the Tour rankings.

“Teahupo’o is one of the spots that I’ve worked hard on throughout my career ... to come away with a win is great for my confidence and I’m in a good position heading into the next half of the year,” Mick said.

Congrats Mick, lets hope he can continue form and win another world title..
