Random n00b question. Is there somewhere you can hire a helmet before getting to the snow? Just wanted to do that as I don’t own one.

when do you plan on getting to jindabyne? some of the stores/rentals are open pretty late. otherwise rhythm in cooma is open 24/7, they would probably have rental helmets

Rhythm will cost you $18 for 3 days of hire.

For their cheapest brand new helmet, you can pick it up for - $89

So for the price of hiring for 4x 3 day trips (or 6 single days), you can have your own which will last you years and not have other people’s funky hair gunk in there.

I realise you aren’t the richest person at the moment but a helmet is 1 thing I’d just nut up and buy (along with boots, gloves and a decent pair of goggles).

I’ve got all my own good gear except a helmet. I might see how I go cash wise before next weekend and see if they have a good priced one to fit my fat head.

Or see if you can do a “challenge” and win a helmet off BW lol…

I’m sure we can think of something more sinister than getting someone to eat a big mac on 1 foot.

ill buy you a helmet if you wear your boots on your hands and can ride top to bottom of front valley without falling over(you can fall over once you get to the barriers for the lift)  tongue rolleye

I probably couldn’t ride top to bottom properly without falling over haha.

Bro I would suggest buying one… I would hate to wear a hire one… wait I have worn a hire one… in America, it was gross sick

It comes down to spare money if I can or not. We’ll see on Friday.

I’ve worn hire helmets and borrowed other people’s helmets, borrowed boots (which in the gross stakes has to be higher!)...Its not really that big a deal. Always seems to be a lot of thin justification for spending money around here. I’m not saying don’t buy one, either…but buying one because rental ones are supposedly icky is weird.

I occasionally require my brain for work related activities. As a result my helmet has paid itself off multiple times. Definitely recommend finding the money and purchasing one if you intend on snowboarding in the future. Don’t just go for the cheapest one though, try a whole bunch on (Rhythm has heaps on multiple levels) and buy the one that fits the best and is the most comfortable.

you can just straight line it and use the masses like bowling pins at the bottom LOL

Surely you can manage falling leaf to the bottom static??

I really do want to get my own helmet so I have one for the future too.

The falling leaf??? I could definitely use the masses like bowling pins raspberry
