And who actually believes we will get 50cm by next Sunday
As luck would have it; I didn’t plan to go down this week so I could try and save money for the shred.
But being the blessed snowbum I am; I’ve been asked to shoot the Interschool Championships in Thredbo from Thursday-Sunday
Best August ever!!
I did, but some forecast have different opinions…
I feel it would start dumping Thursday and Friday
Bring it on!!!!
Fingers crossed all those going this weekend have an amazing time!!
It shows how hard it is to pick the weather though. This time last week it was saying that this week/weekend was going to be a week of highs! No white/wet stuff at all.
3 day forecasts are the only ones worth making any plans to. Even then they are fickle and the only real way to know what the weather is doing is to be in it.
I hope Snowatch is correct and Mountainwatch is not, there’s a bit too much ugliness in the MW forecast for my liking, I want nothing but big powdery flakes and 1m of it by Saturday morning so I can go mad on Interceptor again.
Yep one of my regular visits each day has been the weather threads over at Mizu’s new stomping grounds (I have to give the weather nerds credit they do seem to know their stuff). As each day passes I’m getting more excited!
I hope Snowatch is correct and Mountainwatch is not.
The former relies (revenue-wise) pretty much solely on racking up hit rates from punters eager to be told what they want to hear - the latter, not so much, as they also provide a wealth of information other than just snowfall forecasts. Your choice.
For anyone who’s interested (maybe ALL of you together) - a room JUST became available at the (otherwise fully booked) Station Resort for this weekend. It sleeps up to 6 people, so if you want it, grab it!
here’s what Jane reckons. She’s been pretty spot-on for most of this season.
A series of fronts and troughs are on their way - and it is warming up then turning cold.
A weakening front today does nothing for the resorts, it is turning sunny.
A trough and northwest winds warm it up tomorrow, bringing isolated showers and thunderstorms.
A strong cold front hits later Thursday, followed by another on Friday. Rain will turn to snow on Thursday night and persist until Saturday morning.
Another front hits later Saturday, bringing more snow.
How much snow…
20 to 30 cm Thursday night through to Saturday morning.
15 to 25 cm Saturday night to Monday.
I hope Snowatch is correct and Mountainwatch is not.

Nowadays I am VERY happy that mountainwatch didn’t succeed in purchasing Snowatch.
I love their site!
Because if Mountainwatch had purchased Snowatch, it may have been redesigned NOT to look like it was hurriedly slapped together by a 12 year old with NO recognizable design skills whatsoever - but you’d still prefer it to look just the way it does now?
Or are you saying you love the Mountainwatch site?
DRC and I have been watching the reports daily for this weekend! Starting to get a little more excited now

where’s the bear gone? was wondering what happened to him. I did see a post of his on ski.com.au
Yeah I find it strange why you would go to a forum that seems to hate snowboards and talks mainly about skiing!!
