Got a little one-piece ex-hire suit we bought for the tackers. It has developed a small tear in the bum area. This part is covered with tougher, canvas-like stuff. Anyone know the best way to patch this up so it’s still waterproof?
Thankee
I would guess you might need to patch it and get some waterproofing spray or something? Im really not sure but that would be my guess!
Your easiest options are: Gore-Tex repair kit, tent repair kit, or duct tape. I wouldn’t bother with a Gore-Tex repair kit for kids outerwear as it’s the most expensive option. Go to a camping/outdoor store and see what they have. Otherwise a bit of duct tape is your best bet - works pretty well too.
Duct tape! Yes! Just look for the episode of mythbusters about duct tape!!! Wow!
Thanks, Blizz and rider. I had duct tape already on there and it was mostly ok but tends to peel up as the canvas stuff it’s trying to stick to is pretty coarse. I’ll check out Rays and see what they’ve got.
You could try to stitch the tear and then seal it with some sort of glue/sealant.
