GNU Wierdfest 2012 - Contest Video - Selwyn Snowfields

Mt Selwyn is in the New South Wales snowfields right near the gold rush regions of the 1860?s…shit was all rascal bushrangers and hectic hard times back then, today though its bbq’s, snow johnny’n good times and general weirdness.  The second stop of the GNU ‘Weirdfest’ kicked off with the ‘boxes’ comp starting out at 180 feet in length composed of a myriad of boxes and rails in various different kinks and shapes.  After a couple of hours of crew getting nailed the setup was shortened it to about 120 feet.  Jye Kearney was the first to complete the whole rail but ate it attempting a backflip off the end.  He ran straight back up and next shot claimed the title stomping the backflip for some added flare.  Jye also won the high ollie comp with Tom Pelley a close second.  Huge thanks to Selwyn Snowfields and particularly the park crew for hosting the event.

Stop 3 of the Weirdfest tour is at Mt Baw Baw on the Sat 11th August. Registration at 9am with a valid day pass.
