RUST!

Avatar

Eeek,
I finally pulled out my boards to inspect know that it’s within a week of potential riding.

My K2 Zepplin has a a bit of cancer, not too bad considering I had no summer wax on it.

And the Chemical Storm has come out roses!

I know I did summer waxing last year but it seems I only did Shifty_Ninja’s boards. So naughty!
Time to pull out the file and warm up the iron.

I “Stored” my boards in the living room for summer (all dried off) so they have no rust at all smile

I summer waxed my board and stored it in my bedroom smile it’s nice crashing out with my board in view haha. She’s looking fine for this winter :D

Admittedly the K2 had that rust at the end of last season. All my boards were dry and stored in plastic then in my board bag/s.
My Salamon (girly board) doesn’t worry me as it’s my back up, loaner, rock hopper.

When are you getting your first slide in Ash?

And yeah having your board in view is essential. My surfboard sits on top of my snowboard bags in view of my bed and desk next to my mountain board and skateys.

I pulled my board out yesterday and thankfully it was fine. Since moving north I’ve noticed how quickly mildew forms on everything in the garage so I was pretty worried. Thankfully not a sausage of rust. I only took a photo of the top sheet but still here she is

man thats nothing.. a quick rub with a gummi will sort that out..

I stupidly left my still wet boards in their bags in the car for like a week and the amount of rust was shocking! I had to re surface all the edges and then scrub all the orange rust stains out of the bags man what a job… i’ll never do it again tho. lesson learned.

Just need to lose the rope from the binding… such a pointless attachment for anyone who knows not to be a retard and turn their board over when they take it off. Other things include tightening screws before you ride. Nowhere in Australia will kick up a stink if you dont have one (and if you dont, just make one out of a shoelace or something…)

Ha. Too true. Just an old habit I guess (plus it was free). Mind you I have had a binding loosen right off in deeper stuff many moons ago. Stayed on but its an awful feeling when you realise the bindings barely holding on. That being said the strap wasn’t going to help that. wink
