Hotham snow report this morning
Snowstorm gets even bigger - Heavenly Valley opens tomorrow!
Snowflakes fell persistently yesterday becoming heavier later in the day. In the past 24 hours a massive 48cm of fresh snow has fallen at Hotham and the average natural snowdepth is 70cm. The current temperature is -1.8 degrees with a windchill of -4. Temperatures dropped to an overnight low of -1.9. Snow is expected to continue to fall today down to 900 metres at times, and the radar shows a further 20cm of fresh snow at least before the weekend with the possibility of a further 5 - 10cm tomorrow.
Following this massive dump of fresh snow, the Heavenly Valley chair will be turning for the first time this season tomorrow bringing the total number of operating lifts to 6 and opening up some fantastic terrain for skiing and snowboarding. Lift pass prices will be announced soon. This is the weekend to Chuck a Snowie!
Today is the last day of Learn to Ski Week. There’s still the chance to bring your friends and family to Hotham and introduce them to the snow. A one day adult deal is only $119 at any Tickets counter. This includes a limited lift pass, equipment hire and a 2 hour beginner snowsports lesson. A Ski Patrol information session will take place at 12 noon today in front of the RMB. Meet the patrollers and check out their tools!
The Hotham/Falls Creek Heli Link will open tomorrow, weather permitting. Not only is this a fantastic experience but a wonderful way to see the stunning views.
