Finally got a small dump last night. And I conveniently had the day off work, so just had my first day of the season today. Went to cardies and scored a perfect bluebird day with 20cm of fresh. Got to ride my new Union Contact Pro bindings which more than lived up to expectations, and brake in the new boots. Stoked!
I’ll be in Cardrona early Sept this year cant wait!!

First shot from the new gopro after the last dump. Looking out over Lake Wanaka from TC. Every morning I wake up to amazing sunrises over the mountains, and every night has awesome sunsets that light up the lake and hills. So far, this mountain has the most amazing view of any I have ever ridden,
yeah that view is insane and wanaka in general is insane. Would love to live there
Thinking about heading over for a flying 1 week visit in a couple of weeks. might jump on a haka tour or something ... don’t think I can keep myself away from the snow up here in north qld much longer!!
Do it. We don’t have a heap of snow at the moment. But the weather has been consistently sunny with little to no wind for almost two weeks. I’ve never had such a long stretch of perfect weather in NZ before.

Not yet. Heading there on Wednesday perhaps - may also go a see a mate who has suffered a brain injury early season and is heading back home. One of the guys in some snowpark pictures is a friend of mine, I used to teach with him and he taught me a lot of what I know. So stoked to see him starting to get recognition for his skill.

Friday was first day of opening for Snow Park NZ, with a 30cm base on Snow Park NZ’s popular box run, patrons were treated to a great days skiing and boarding, under perfectly blue, sunny skies.
“Each and every member of the Snow Park team has done an absolutely amazing job getting ready for opening!” said Slopes Manager John Melville.
Recent cold temperatures allowed for top-to-bottom snowmaking over the past week, transforming Snow Park NZ into the winter wonderland that attracts snow enthusiasts from far and wide. With more runs expected to open soon, it’s off to a great start!
Snow Park NZ is scheduled to be open seven days a week. Additional terrain with night skiing on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights will open as snowfall permits. During the school holidays coming up Saturday will also be open for nightriding.
2012 looks to be another exciting season for Snow Park NZ, with major events such as Electric Quarterpipe, The North Face Freeski Open and Billabong Bro Down.

Yeah, it happens. Luckily he was wearing a helmet or it could have been worse - doctors said yesterday they think he might make a full recovery. So here’s hoping.
Mates name is Jack. If you ever want to learn freestyle, I suggest to request him for a lesson there!
My other mates been getting some shots of the day on the fb page! Lucky girl just rides everyday - she can’t work here so she just bought the pass and hitches to snow park everyday! (apologies for the awful second stick in the photo)
haha. I had a lesson with a yank from Tahoe called Parker, last year, and there was another Kiwi that my friend had called Finn, but they are the only ones I know.
