hmmm tempting…

But i want a headcam to use for Tough Mudder, admittedly i have done no research on drift, but how would the waterproof housing hold up to mud/freezing water/obstacles etc. compared to the gopoo case? I.E. is it a hard case like Gopoo?

The case should perform near indentically to the gopro case as it’s a hard case.

Hah well you weren’t too far off the mark. The drift cameras before these new models (DriftHD and 720) were only able to use a crappy waterproof “pouch” which I definitely wouldn’t have recommended for tough mudder.

Drift720;
720p 25/30 fps
WVGA 25/30/50/60 fps

DriftHD
1080p 25/30 fps
720p 25/30/50/60 fps
480p 25/30/50/60/90 fps

I must admit; some people that use Drift in a professional capacity use only 720p@60 with DriftHD, the only use I have for 1080p is as it gives a wider angle that I can digitally zoom-in on in post prod.

This pretty much means the entry level Drift720 meets most the needs of even pro’s.

Do you go deep under water in Tough Muddler? Both models will handle 0.5m The housing provides great insurance in almost any conditions.

nah you rarely even get your head under water, the onnly time is just under the surface in the ice bath and then you jump off a 5m platform into a lake then swim to shore
