Are Technine Boards any good?

Avatar

Well the title says it all.
What is your opinion?
I can get a good deal from work on a Technine MFM pro model board.
But the only person I know that rides a Technine board… is a Technine Pro… so he was a bit biased lol.

If anyone rides a T9 board or has demoed one (espescially a MFM model). Tell us all about it smile

my missus has one, not sure on the exact model. was from 09 i believe.

she likes it, but that isnt saying much cause she is only jus tstarting to get good at riding. its the only board she has ridden/owned.

Thats all i can help ya with sorry.

I dunno but if its good enough for MFM, it’d be good enough for me. He has amazing style!

Haven’t ridden it but I heard the MFM pro is a bit stiff. I guess you could always ride it then sell it if you don’t like it. Or keep it as a pre-season board.

Tech nine stuff is generally cheap and nasty. Their bindings don’t work from the beginning and their boards try to be more gangsta than snowboard in my opinion. Though I haven’t ridden one in a few years and they might have improved

Dude! Their binding are SO good. With out technine we wouldn’t have high back hooks or even toe caps!
I have their element bindings with the scrub hooks. Easily the best bindings I’ve had.

But as for their boards go, you may be right. My friend John rides for them and he’s says they make them to sell for a lower price so you can destroy them doing urban stuff and not care. Which is a good idea but I’m pretty careful with my boards and usually use them for ages, so I’m not sure if I should get one or not…. hmmm.

Technine are good… but only if your gangsta!

I think it depends which board he’s riding. Maybe he’s riding a lower end board? I think the MFM Pro is a pretty high end expensive board if I remember correctly.

yeah you would have to think it would be the best board they have…

I had a pair and they took forever to strap on. and I have tried just strapping new ones on at shops and they have been dodgey as. Maybe it was a few years ago and they have improved but I wasn’t a fan.

+ I’m not gangsta enough to rock anything they make.

Haha, yeah that’s the other reason I haven’t bought the board yet.
I love my T9 bindings but not sure if I’m hard enough to use T9 Board and bindings together lol

I see this thread has been dead for quite a while but I have to throw in a few words for the MFM pro. I have owned an MFM for about 5 years and have A buddy that has owned an MFM classic for almost that long. While it’s not my favorite board I pull it out at least once a year just for kicks. It is true, it is on the stiffer side but doesn’t seem to have the durability issues that tech nine is getting criticized for. It keeps an awesome edge on the groomers and is awesome in the pipe. It is a great all around all mountain board for beginners up to the more advanced. If you’re looking for something to get started on I would have no problem recommending a tech nine.
