A talent that amazes,
Impresses and takes more skill than any typical band.
Whether youre skating to the sound of kayne west or kimbra,
when you’re Skate boarding its just you and the board,
working as a team,
At that moment nothing else matters.
Skating is more skilful that singing or playing the drums and has been known to gather triple the crowds of a rock concert.
So why wouldn’t you show the world your skills at Australia’s biggest festival?
Why should skateboarding always be a part of Big Day Out…?
S kateboarders & Musicians buzzing off each other’s energy creates a rad vibe
K eeps things interesting whilst chilling out between seeing bands
A llows another creative artform to be performed live by the best skaters in the world
T he new generation of kids become exposed to the excitement of skateboarding
E ntertainment is an understatement for the ‘Big Skate Tour 2012’
B rings a much more interesting vibe in comparison to other music festivals
O pportunity to see Tony Hawk skating in person…mindblowing
A nother sacred art-form gains exposure
R aw skateboarding in person means there’s never going to be a dull moment
D irectly links the important relationship between skateboarding and music

skateboarding can never be taken out of the big day out
its just too much fun for not only the boarders but the crowds
theres nothing that can beat that rush you get when youve just popped up into the air and you just hang for even just a second
and the big day out is the perfect way to showcase all the talent that we have to offer in this sport
not only in the riding and tricks but have you seen some of the art on the boards lately?
i tried painting a deck myself but it cant compete with some of the home style designs ive seen around.

Skateboarding should be represented as much as music is and you always want to move your body at a festival so skateboarding is a good way to do that too. Especially at the Big Day Out!!
UPDATED FLYER with new Perth venue details
Big Day Out is the one festival of the year that EVERYBODY gets eagar for, when that lineup is announced, it’s posted all over Facebook, it’s a festival that creates memories, is an escape and an exception to everyday life, even good old Australia day for most, it really is an escape! And that’s exactly what skating entails, an escape, an archive of memories and an exception to reality, it’s only logical that both put together, work so well and along side each other help to create that “Big Day Out” vibe. To me it creates the idea that anything is possible, it gives me an adrenaline rush and motivation, which is exactly how I like to feel on a BIG DAY OUT! Skating should always be a part of big day out, because without it, it risks being “just another music festival”.
I think big day out attracts people who like to see risk-takers, be they musicians or skateboarders. It’s a hedonistic rush of a day where board drops and bass drops go hand in hand.
