Magic Johnson: 20 years living with HIV

Today is the 20th anniversary of Magic Johnson’s announcement about his HIV diagnosis and subsequent retirement from basketball.

I’m sharing this with you because Magic’s attitude to life is so positive and it’s quite incredible how he faced and continues to face a huge challenge in his life. It just goes to show that we should fight when are backs are up against a wall. If we don’t stay positive and face challenges head on, situations can often get the better of us.

Below is the original video from his announcement 20 years ago. Watching both videos, it really doesn’t seem like his attitude or approach to life has changed much in 20 years.
