I’ve been thinking of getting something like this for big freeriding days.

The spine ergo is a lightweight back protector, with shoulder straps and a height
adjustable flexible waistband system for the best individual fit. The back plates
are made of polypropylene and have an inner shock-absorbing core made of
multi impact epp. Thanks to the air induction system that transports moisture
and lets fresh air flow in, it has great ventilation. spine ergo is the alternative if
you prefer to use a light weight hard shell protection with multi-impact shock
absorbing properties. sizes: XS-XL.

Jezza - POC make quality stuff. I have some of their gear for DH mountain biking and it’s a cut above the rest. I believe they even do a VPD back protector too. That’s the stuff that is soft until it’s impacted, then becomes solid. Pro bikers are using it in kneepads etc. It’s the same stuff as in the burton d3o impact shorts.

Oh, and Jeremy Jones (big mtn) is on POC this year, too. As if you needed more convincing!

I currently own this one http://www.allsportprotection.com/Demon_Flex_Force_Back_and_Spine_Armor_p/ds1100.htm and toke a few spills last season held up well but this one you guys talking about it obviously better the price gives that away but do u recommend me upgrading to this one?  it seems like a very sleek design

Just like a standard mouth guard from the chemist yeah?

i have a custom made one from when i used to play footy, but that thing is so huge i cant even close my mouth, plus i think my teeth have shifted since then.

I got the best over the counter mouthguard the other day.  Protech Dent mouthguard (they come in a pack of two) but they are seriously the best mouthguard I’ve tried that you mould yourself (you can drink and talk with it in which makes it easier to forget that you’ve got it in).

my mate has one of this but in vest shape like in previous page i showed, and he is happy with it and he says he is very comfy and he still has all the movements and no constrains or anything as such as that, so if it worth upgrading that i hard to say since i don’t have or know anyone that is coming from similar to what you have.

I’m a big believer of ‘if I’m broken, I can’t snowboard’ SO DON’T GET BROKEN!!!

Here is what I wear:
Helmet
Impact shorts
Knee Pads
Wrists Guards

I have broken or seriously injured everything in these areas. So why wouldn’t I wear them??

Remember, it’s not like skating. The only visible thing is the helmet. No one even knows that you’re wearing the other stuff.
So armor up peeps rocker

What knee guards do you wear Andy?  Are they normal skate style knee guards or more of a knee brace style?  I keep thinking about these things.

sup, Robocop

I guess they look like they’d protect everything from the waist down.

Im actually considering these this year mainly because i want to take down some big mountain runs and I already wear knee pads but they piss me off because they move up and down, I also wanted to get a tailbone / butt protector and i was actually looking at this one http://www.xsportsprotective.com/azzpad-tailbone-protector.html but the problem is that is all it protects and that sucks soo this padded pants are sweet and look like they will do the trick one question how tough are the knee guards? I want to make sure they are made with some hard material not light foam or something the ones i got now have a plastic top portion that works very well.

Lester I don’t know champ, from mind they look like they will be just padding of some description.  I’m not super keen on rails but I do like jumps so I i’m not super concerned about having a hard outer shell on my padding.

These are exactly what I have right now.

I wear them over my compression thermals and I don’t notice them which is a good thing.

Only wear a helmet - won’t go up the hill without it, saved me from many concussions. Will be looking into impact shorts this season in whistler - had a pretty nice meeting with a tree last season which could have been a lot worse. Haven’t ever thought about a back brace but couldn’t hurt on the big powder days when you generally go a lot bigger. Will have a chat with the dentist about mouthguards as I’ve had a clicky jaw for the most part of a year now which I think may be linked to one huge stack I had in Whistler.

Need some help finding good padded pants with a good tailbone and knee padding I was looking at the crash pants but them I’m hearing bad things about the knee guards,, is there any others that u guys recommend that have a bit better/harder protection, i was going to buy a tailbone protector and use my hard knee guards but I would like to have something that protects both, plus those damn knee guards always move around,, any suggestions would be great appreciated.
