huh?
quicksilver is a huge surf brand
nearly as big as Catchit and Hot Buttered ....... damn showing my age again
Just cause it’s big, don’t make it cool!!!!!!
Catchit was one of the biggest seppo brands ever!!!!!!
i hear people bag out Burton cause they are big ........ but they make awesome boards, clothing and gear
same with quicksilver
catchit was a Kmart brand back in the day :D
The impression I have from the boardworld Shred
I need 5000 buckerooos to get my butt to Canada!!! (Anyone got some spare change in their pocket) hehehehhe.

Lol apparently you have to pay those back
I had nuthing to do with any of this!!!!!!!!
Just a side note: Quiksilver have so far been big supporters of Boardworld. Mizu, don’t forget Quiksilver owns Lib Tech, GNU, DC etc. Lib Tech especially have gone to great efforts to support The Shred and Boardworld in general. I hope we can continue working with them in the future (surf section included). Yes, they are a huge brand but the guys working there are passionate about their work and they are some of the best to deal with. They support boardsports in Australia on a huge level.
Just wanted to get that out there.
Might just be me then!!!!! I don’t like the Quiksilver Brand, ya can actually say that it is like the Thredbo Brand is to you atm!!!!!
Just sendin that one back to ya!!!!!!
I dont think Hot Buttered was that cool either .....
nah Hot Buttered was never cool .....
Hot Buttered was cool, and is still run as a family business that live the surfin life to this day!!!!!!
Catchit was a major brand in the USA, and was available in surf shops, along with brands like Body Glove, Mambo, Bad Boy, Piping Hot and Mango just to name a few!!!!!!
Since when does it matter what brand you wear? Unless, of course, you surf just for the image.
Without brands like Quiksilver leading the industry surfing would still be in the dark ages of home made surfboards, we would be wearing football jerseys in the water to keep warm and world title winners would still be stoners.
Mambo was about fashion not surfing.
BadBoy sold out from the origins of surfing royalty - Hawaiian
There is a lot of colourful history in the development of surf branding, at the end of the day most brands cashed in on the popularity of the lifestyle and had little desire to progress the sport. A few exceptions exist - Quicksilver is one of them.
Quicksilver made the first million dollar pro-surfer in Mark Richards and has continued to offer the same incentive to their sponsored riders to win a world title.
They are the brand that stick by their surfers through thick and thin, have the highest number of world champion surfers on their books and none of them have wanted or needed to change brands.
Whats the name of that other WC surfer who has been sponsored by Quicksiver since he was 12? Oh, I remember, Kelly Slater…..
BadBoy now sponsors Ultimate Fighting, far from surfing huh! Crazy what can happen to brands.
really good 2 hear we got so much positive feedback from the shred!!!
Looking at the photo’s it could be hard to believe.
But then I’ve seen instructor party photo’s, lifty’s, village crew, mountain crew and last night’s staff party for Alfresco Pizza when the bar tab reached $1000 in 1hr.
We may have to step it up.
I dunno, I have had a lot to do with Quikky over the years, they are no more guilty of selling out then any other brand out there. They all do to some extent, I still prefer their gear to most others however it comes down to value for money for me a lot of times. BTW Mick Fanning was with Quikky at 15, remember the old Video that cost $10 “Enjoy The Ride”, that was one of the best Aussie Surf movies of that time I reckon!
LOL I used to have a Hot Buttered Vee body board!
The shred definitely left an impression… on K2’s face.
seriously though, that’s got to be one of the worst injuries I’ve seen from a turkey slap
