What a champion! I watched the final three stages of the tour and I wish I started watching earlier. It’s such a gruelling event and an Aussie finished on top for the first time in history. The way he powered through the final stages was just brilliant. It just goes to show if you want something bad enough, you can make it happen.
Did anyone watch the tour?
More on Cadel here.

I guess Azz can move in soon.
Did you read my edited post though? Sorry mate.
And I thought that I was gonna be the one coverin for Azz’s down falls!!!!!
Didnt watch it that much but keep up with it on the news…...
On ya Cadel
I usually watch lots of Le Tour, but watched pretty much none of it this year unfortunately
But such awesome news for Aussie Cycling to have Cadel win it! Stoked for him. I have so much admiration for what the riders put themselves through.
Sorry to say but I didn’t watch it and I never will
I bike to my vacation job every day, I bike to friends(almost every day), I biked to school every day for the past 12 years and then seeing this on tv is just a little to much
Also I live in Belgium and we get pretty much pump full of football and cycling(the 2 sports I think are the most retarded, srry if this offends you but that is just my opinion) and I’m sick of it
Ok I congrats Cadel for winning, I couldn’t have done it, but watching it? naaa…
any aussie that wins is a LEGEND
Did anyone watch the tour?
Every year, every stage, since I was a kid.
I saved Cadel from getting beaten up by overly aggressive bouncers once. At the 1996 MTB World Champs in Cairns - he was (very uncharacteristically) crowd surfing at an industry party thrown by RockShox at a local nightclub.
“This kid could win the Tour de France one day!”
- Phil Liggett on Cadel winning the 1998 Tour of Tasmania.
That was way back when Cadel was still a professional mountain biker, not a road racer. It was another three years before he switched to professional road racing.

I won a free Mars Bar the other day!!!!
What a champion, he will be Australian of the Year next year for sure.
