Point & Shoot Help!!!

Avatar

I want to buy a point and shoot camera but have been disappointed with one my partner got recently.

He got a Samsung ES65 and the photo quality is just sh*t! Looks like the edges of the pictures are bleeding. That is the only way I can explain it. I have played with the setting, followed what the book says but nope, still crap!! (On the view of the camera as well as when I transfer to PC)

I had a look at the Olympus Tough today, but obviously could only see what the photos look like on the camera. I would have liked to see them on a PC.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a good quality point n shoot! I need one for going o/s. I don’t care about brand, but price wise would like to be $250 and under.

canon and lumix for point & shoots.

before you give up on the samsung have a look online to see what the reviews are like for that model, and if that problem has happened to other people. It could be something covered under waranty

Thanks Gamblor. We have an old Canon point and shoot but it is too bulky. Still takes good photos, but gets annoying being so heavy and bulky.

I will do some research.

Thanks so much grin

I’ve been really happy with my Canon IXUS 305.

The IXUS range usually gets very good feedback. Good quality, good features, and compact. You should be able to find some for under $250.

I’ve been using a uTough or whatever since 08, got some pretty nice shots out of it plus some sweet panorama ones, though not sure if Australian conditions really do much to the Tough features.
Recently got a Lumix FH1 on the cheap, i’m talking under $200, as a throwaway type thing and that also takes good shots.  Will try it at the snow and on the slopes this year, hopefully i’ll get some quality snaps.  Even the auto feature does well.
Mate of mine has an Ixus and the shots from that look awesome.  Camera or shooter or both?  Who knows.  I’d love to get a Powershot S95 from Canon…

I definitely need/want to take some photography classes, though when you take dozens of shots at the same thing you’re bound to get a winner!
