MEDIA RELEASE:

VANS AND BOWL-A-RAMA™  PARTNER THROUGH 2013 TO PRESENT VANS BOWL-A-RAMA™ BONDI AND INCREASE OVERALL PRIZE PURSE

BOWL-A-RAMA™ Australia, the biggest concrete bowl event in the Southern Hemisphere, is proud to announce that Vans, the original action sports footwear brand, has re-signed as naming rights partner for Bondi for the next two consecutive years, as well as stepping on board as Gold sponsor for BOWL-A-RAMA™ Wellington 2012 and 2013. The partnership further solidifies the potential the events provide in both shaping and influencing the growing landscape of skateboarding in Australasia by growing the prize purse to attract the best skateboarders.

Director of Frontside Events and Founder/Event Director of BOWL-A-RAMA™ Chad Ford comments “We’re stoked to have Vans continue this fantastic relationship for another two years. BOWL-A-RAMA™ is all about giving skaters the best possible showcase. With Vans support we have been able to increase our prize purse to AUD $80K this year and AUD $100K the next. Vans have been instrumental in growing the event year after year.”? ?

Ford, a skateboarder, created BOWL-A-RAMA™ in 2005 as a grassroots competition that provided a platform in which Australian riders could skate with their friends from all over the globe. 7 years later, the event has amassed a global following and became officially sanctioned by World Cup Skateboarding (WCS) in 2006.

Vans APAC Marketing Director Jenn Kong said “Vans is excited to continue our partnership with Frontside Events to present Vans BOWL-A-RAMA™ Bondi for the next two years.  We’ve been sponsoring BOWL-A-RAMA™ for the past six years and we look forward to continuing to elevate Vans BOWL-A-RAMA™ and to build its presence as the premiere skate event in Asia Pacific for future years. 2011 was a landmark year for us to have presented the first live webcast of a skateboarding event in Australia and we’re excited to announce a substantial increase in our support which helps to grow the overall prize purse for BOWL-A-RAMA™ 2012 and continue to attract the best skaters from around the globe.”? ?
