CHICKS WITH STIX - Female Freestyle Shred Sessions

Chicks with Stix (CwS) is a grass-roots organisation that was founded in 2010 in Australia with the aim to provide much needed encouragement and opportunities for young girls, to help them become involved in freeride, slopestyle and big mountain skiing.

Chicks with Stix run FREE sessions throughout the Australian Alps with Australia’s most experienced female freestyle coaches. Girls in the CwS program have an opportunity to watch, learn and improve their skills, in a safe and non-threatening environment. CwS provide an outlet for self-expression, social connection, self esteem and fitness.Seven weekend sessions have been planned at Buller, Thredbo, Perisher, Hotham and Mt Baw Baw, where the best skiers and coaches in Australia will be conducting freestyle skills classes for teenage girls. At the end of the season, there will be a girls-only competition. And it?s all free!

A few people have scratched their heads and asked “huh? what’s going on?” .... while some smarty-pants even figured it out (you know who you are).

So now we’re really pleased to confirm that YES! the Chicks with Stix session at Hotham, on Saturday July16, will have a snowboard component led by local shredster and all-round cool chick Hannah Studd!

If you already hang at the slopes of Hotham you would have seen Hannah shredding Mary’s or chilling out in the back bowls - she’s pretty impressive, so kinda hard to miss…....

Hotham is our first ‘away game’ for the season and Hannah is our first snowboard coach, so there’s a lot of firsts coming our way and we couldn’t be more stoked !
