Worth mentioning they give a couple of extra ladder straps in both toe and ankle sizes in case anything breaks while travelling/riding.
very cool….or maybe their quality sucks and they break often
Sorry to butt in guys but im also looking for some bindings and boots.
Been looking at different models of burton but don’t really know what to look for haha
My height is 6ft and weight is 65kg
Currently have Burton Custom V-Rocker 154
Have only been riding for a season and yet to use the board haha..
So what would be the best option for beginner to intermediate for both bindings and boots?
Something comfortable enough for full day mountain riding would be a plus
Hey there RJH, of course your allowed to butt. That’s what boardworld is all about getting the help you need.
Ok first up have you got boots and bindings at the moment? If so what are they and what problems, if any have you had with them?
Price range and are you looking to stay with burton boards in the future? EST being the reason for that.
Hey CJ, yeh man currently have ThirtyTwo Lashed which i won along with everything else i have from your’s truly boardworld But they are a size too big (size 9) other than that they seemed alright for the day i spent on them, going to sell them soon since they’re no use to me.
I dont have any intentions of buying any new boards for along time haha seems this one is brand new and never been ridden on yet.
Don’t have any bindings as of yet, just the board and boots (size to big).
Boot wise, that is a very essential area. Make sure you are fitted according to your foot shape. Without seeing your feet its hard to say, but here somethings you can go by. If you have wide feet, go for boots like 32, mid wide some of the burton and nitro boots. Narrow some dc are good, haven’t seen a lot of the other companies at the moment.
Bindings if you are going to hold onto that board for a while and not change anything anytime soon, go for the est set up. The cartel est will give you more of an all mountain feel, not super expensive either. The base of the bindings is a cushioning on so adds to the damping for comfort and more board feel. If you can afford more jump on the C02 just the most comfortable in the burton range.
You are 6ft with size 8 feet?
Yep haha, small feet and slim build… Last time i measured my height i was 180cm, which is 6ft right?
Anyways im Size 9 in shoes usually but size 9 snowboard boots were too big i found. Feet are narrow for sure, might be worth heading into ballistyx to get the boots all sorted out.
Just having a shot in the dark but are the DC Judge and/or the K2 T1 boots worth having a look into?

Sounds like a good idea RJH!!!!!
And if ya got low arches in ya feet, also look at gettin some Custom Fitted Footbeds along with em!!!!! They will be $$$ well spent and somethin that ya can swap over into ya future boots as well!!!!!
I’d also recommend that ya go for a boot that has got a Mid-Flex to it!!!!! Along with the bindings that CJ recommended and the type of board that ya have already, a Mid-Flex boot will match perfectly!!!!!
A super Soft Boot, while feelin great on ya feet, is more suited to the Jib Monkeys and/or first time boarders!!!!!
A Mid-Flex boot will see ya cover most things on the mountain!!!! Comfortable yet Supportive and firm!!!!! (A new boot will loosen a little after a few days on the hill also!!!!)
And most Brand name boots will be worth tryin on untill ya get the one that fits ya foot!!!!! Take a heap of time and make the right choice!!!! Don’t go on Brand/Colour/Graphics or even tech features!!!!! The Old Lace up boot can some times be the best choice as well as, ya can alter the pressure points along the boot to either give ya more/less support or comfort as desired!!!!!
I really like my 10/11 Carterls so would definitely recommend them. Great all round and comfy binding. Toe strap is so good.
co2’s would NOT be the most comfortable binding in the burton range. try malavitas.
even better get cartel re:flex -> feels like est but you can use it on other boards.
even better, if you’re getting stuff from 2012, the missions are basically like this year’s cartels. or maybe they were like that this year, I forget
Where can i find these cartel reflex? I’ve heard of Cartel and Cartel EST, but not reflex.
they were a late release so they are hard to find. You might have better luck with the prophecy’s which have re:flex too. next year the malavitas will be reflex too
If you have narrow feet the mid to higher end boots in the dc range usually have a narrower footprint. 32 boots would definitely be to wide for you. Mizu mentioned footbeds, they do add to the cost but absoutely worth the coin not matter the foot shape. The more support the better.
Also about lace ups, the fact that brands still make them in their range says enough for me. Mizu is right about the pressure points being able to be distributed differently and they even flex a bit to help with pressure relief.

Hey RJH,
The Cartel ESTs or regular Cartels (if you think you’ll use them on other boards) would be a great first binding for you and a good match for your board. Medium price point, good performance, versatile flex, and super comfy.
Sweet thanks for the advice guys. Really good to see a helpful community of boarders on there forums!
P.S Been reppin’ my boardworld tee down the street ever since i won it last season : and spreading the word of boardworld to all my mates who are into anything snow
Peace out, RJH
