Hi, I got hooked into snowboarding this year. i done 1 x 2hr private session.
I’m looking to buy my own board, bind boots with a bit of tight budget ( around 500-800)
my build:
175cm
100kg ( will decrease in the future =]]] )
they give me 11 boots when i hired, however i feel a bit loose at the toe, 10 is a bit tight for me as i got fat & short feets.
I cannot do toe, heel, falling leaf without falling yet. but i think i will master it soon.
Could I get some of your advise about board profile, length, width, stand ? also I don’t mind about brand or second hand.
thank you in advance
Welcome to Boardworld, @babycover. I’m stoked to hear you’re already hooked on snowboarding. Welcome to the club!
I split your post into its own thread so we can give it the attention it deserves.
Do you mind me asking, what’s your target weight for the near future? It’s just because that weight is the most important factor in determining ideal board size. If you can give me some sort of indication on this it will make my recommendation more accurate. I don’t want to suggest a board that’s bigger than you’re going to need.
Let me know and we can take it from there.
thank you for your help.
i’m trying to get back to my 95 or even 90kg so i think it not that significant
really looking forward to your advise cause i will heading to mt buller or back to Fallscreek ( where i really like) soon
Hey @babycover,
Trying to stay within your budget, I would suggest something like the Rome Factory Rocker or the YES. Basic. Both these boards would be great to learn and progress on, while being excellent value for money. The YES. board has a lifetime warranty as well.
For bindings, I would steer you towards the Now IPO from last season (also available in white) which we have on sale. In my opinion, at this price, it’s about the best value for money you can get. It’s a really good, versatile binding (I own a set myself) and it won’t be a binding you need to replace down the track.
A cheaper option would be the Flux PR, but I would suggest the Now IPO if you can afford the difference.
Please let me know if you need any further advice. ?
Hi, thank you i will look into all your suggestion. In the mean time would you spare sometime and have a look at these 2 boards that i found on gumtree
Men burton snowboard
(link removed)
K2 sattellie snoboard
(link removed)
I would love to have brand new equipment if i van afford it. However, if the price lots different and quality is ok, then i would go with second hand
No worries at all. We don’t allow links to sites like Gumtree and eBay on the forums (to protect Australian retailers), so I have removed the links—sorry about that!
But I did take a look at the two boards. I would avoid them at all costs. Both look quite old and used, and you just have no idea what use they have been put through. That K2 board looks super old, actually! You don’t get any warranty with either of them. At the price they are being sold at, I just don’t see any value whatsoever. That’s my honest opinion.
