Why everyone should carry a rescue whistle on a powder day!

I bought Fox 40s for all of my lot last season but the compliance rate has been poor.

The zipper pull on my Mammut jacket is a rescue whistle which is handy coz it’s up near your mouth already.  Keeping your whistle in your pocket is great IF you can get at it!  That’s another reason the integrated whistle on Avie backpacks are so good - they’re on the shoulder strap not far from your mouth.

I do love the 1/2/3 blows code!  Great idea.  Being often the last one (don’t like my kids being behind me and I’m usually the one that gets stuck!) it’d be great to be able to let them know I’m stuck but fine.  There’s nothing worse than waiting for ages for someone to emerge unsure as to whether you should be racing into full rescue mode or not.

these are a great idea. Wish I’d read this thread before we came to Nippon. Will invest before our next trip, for sure.
