Vimeo or Youtube?

Avatar

Sure, but look at how many views you get baskwith, though I don’t imagine your making a $million out of The Partnership Program.
They knocked me back because I didn’t have enough views.

If your embedding a video into your own website your channel design is more than fully customisable and you can add all the features youtube has but it will have a better platform to advertise your sponsors and take advantage of the beauty of Vimeo.

YT can do quality, in full screen mode 1080p it’s impressive!!!!! You can watch the intro to videos in low-res for faster upload and switch to 1080p when it gets interesting.

After makin my last edits from Japan, I’ve found that Vimeo is getting more hits than YouTube now!!!!!

Anyone else finding this?????

* I have embeded the same movie in both formats/on both hosts, and Vimeo is getting ~ 4:1 as compared to Youtube!!!!!

Nice!! I for one avoid youtube like the plague these days. WAAAAY to many adds and always have issues with videos loading.

It all depends how you promote I think.

If you just put both up, and don’t promote either, YouTube should get more hits (I think).

Some of our trick tip videos have had over 200K views on YouTube organically.

However some of our big episodes from Oi Mate or When in Whistler get more hits on Vimeo, but that’s because we push the Vimeo link out to media.

Overall, I think: YouTube for views, Vimeo for quality.

That’s exactly what I did!!!!!

I set out deliberately to see what difference there would be, and even despite the embedded Vimeo not bein able to watch via iPhone, the Vimeo Edits got either similar, or substantially more hits!!!!!

( not that the amount of hits my vids are any real indication, but I’ve noticed that there has been a turn around from what I’ve seen in the past )

LOL

No i meant if you shared it even once on here (ie viemo) of course it is going to rate more than youtube that you didn’t post here…

Upload a vid to both and do not share it AT ALL. Anywhere…

I shared BOTH links (YouTube & Vimeo) at the same time, and despite iPhone not seein the Embed on Boardworld, Vimeo came up in front!!!!!

* This was the only place that I have shared it on!!!!!

Ah okay… but hmmm i still say that posting it here is a bias to vimeo…

Surely you have a little edit that you can upload fresh today with some good search tags and see which gets the most?

Just for scientific purposes!
