the Devo thread!!

Cords, don’t be devo’d “that I disagree so vehemently with your last statement!”

You both have very valid points of view and approach life from completely different directions.

Tis what makes the world an awesome place. smile

if i didnt do homework i wouldnt have completed my cert III in carpentry & IV in building and construction with distinction’s and credit’s, which in turn wouldnt have me earning the hell good money i am earning.

so i will stick to saying homework is good.

Sure in your field of work, homework wouldnt serve a purpose really. but in a hell of a lot of highly qualified jobs, its a necessity to get where you want to go.

Spendin a couple of years out of ya life to get ya HSC wont kill ya, and I’m pretty sure that it’s not gonna hold ya adventures back at all!!!!!

I made Baby Mizu do her HSC (I am a terrible parent), cause I know that without it people in society wont give her a chance to prove that she can do anythin that she wants to!!!!! It’s all about societies perception of ya intelligence, but most of all ya drive to accomplish somethin!!!!

She is workin in The Whitsunday’s atm, and then off to Canada to live and work a snow season over there!!!!!

I finished up my schooling at year 11, and I know that this will definitely come back to bite me on the arse at some stage!!!!!

I would encourage anyone to do their HSC BUT in saying that I earn more than most of my friends who have been to uni! I don’t regret not finishing school. Some people are not scholars, but are still smart. Hard work gets you anywhere you want to go. That is what I will be teaching my children.

I do quiet well with course work but stress out during exam situations. Getting a mystery mark (to those who understand that term)  in my HSC would have made me feel very small and useless… not exactly inspiring.

I just traded in my life of chasing the winter for 3+ years of Uni. I know I’m doing the smart thing here cause I have a big plan that will eventually lead me back to living in a snow town permanently smile ..... but until then….. Soooo devo :(

Year 11 and 12, while I may have just bludged around in class were great years with my friends…

And I have a piece of paper saying I finished school.

I’m still finishing year 12 and I think I might go Uni next year. May as well get it finished now so it’s out of the way.

enjoy hecs debt!

i earn more than my firends who went to uni, and i dont have a $40,000+ debt to repay for my learning.

only cost me around 2 g’s over 3 years

whilst uni does serve a purpose(to get really, really drunk on week nights) its not for me, my work has offered to subsidise my fees if i want to continue on my learning path and do a diploma etc. etc.

but to be honest, i dont know if i want that. so far im earning decent money, and know i will be earning awesome money in a year or 2 once i climb the ladder another rung and i dont need uni for that.

See how i feel in a few months i guess.

And I don’t, but wish that I did!!!!!

So go and get it amakat!!!!! And once that ya have it, ya can do whatever ya wanna do, and still have the comfort in knowin that ya have it!!!!!

Miss Pops (my eldest daughter) went through to finish her HSC, then went and worked 2 seasons at the snow, spent another year around home and is now doin a degree in the police force!!!!!
