That phone looks bad… Blackberry need to move to touchscreen technology already if they want any chance of competing…

Michelle and I had an appointment this morning. They kept us waiting for two hours without an explanation. Meanwhile they were lacquering the floor and we were trapped with the fumes for two hours. Devo.  hmmm

^

deano knows his stuff; blackberry were designed, developed and marketed for business use. They are the phone for that purpose. Back in the day big business would buy bb and not let their employees use anything else.

Amakat I know not how you feel.
I ditched homework through most of senior HS and now miss posting on BW because I’m snowboarding or getting paid to chat with people while they have dinner (the more chat=bigger tip). Oh, I failed my HSC and now live in a ski resort doing what I want. School will groom/train you to do the man’s bidding, it will give little benefit to perusing your dream.
Homework is what you do because you want to work at home. It should be banned in school and there is psychological reasoning to.
If a student has a need to know they will learn.

Devo that 50,000 kids a year get sucked into society, stop thinking and lose all will to believe dreams are achievable.

spaz doing homework & not applying yourself wasn’t particularly detrimental to you PURSUING your particular dreams maybe & I agree that good marks in school are by no means the b-all and end-all with being able to do what you want to do with your life…but it sure as hell doesn’t hurt to do well in school and give yourself a lot more options for what you are able to do and how soon you are able to do it! The fact is, if your dream is to be a physio, if you haven’t learned to sit down and study, you’ll never be one - and that hasn’t got anything to do with THE MAN.

Also, like it or not, some parts of life are dictated by THE MAN and being able to suck it up, have some self discipline and sit down and do something you don’t particularly want to do (e.g. tax return) is an extremely valuable life skill.

Doing your homework and schoolwork in general has nothing to do with unquestionably doing the man’s bidding. If people only ever learned what they wanted to learn (and I agree this trend is increasing) we’d have a country full of selfish ignoramuses…which is exactly what we are heading towards. The level of general knowledge in this country, let alone knowledge about countries besides are own is verging on embarrassing. I see kids on a daily basis, who when given a handout sheet to complete in class, put up their hand and ask me how to do it, when they have literally been too lazy to read the 3 sentences at the top of the sheet explaining what to do.

Devo that I disagree so vehemently with your last statement!
