For the seasoned how did you go about board bags on the trains? JR trains have enough room or you just pay extra?
No extra payment. Take an old boot lace tied to your bag. When on a train, stand it up in the entrance area and tie it to the grab rail. Keeps them out of the way and you can normally stack 2-3 bags together
Brilliant!
I will strap that bad boy to a pole and get freaky on it!
Snow forecasts are starting to look the goods for Hokkaido resorts! 60+ cms forecast (snow-forecast.com) from Friday to Monday at both Niseko and Kiroro on top of what they’re getting right now. It’s a relief for me as I booked early this time, was starting to stress a bit!

Not quite.
Christmas Breakfast with my folks in Mandurah, home, get ready for trip, leave for airport about 8.30pm. Fit opening presents in there somewhere - kids are 16 - 23 so they’re old enough to wait.
I’ll in Hakuba from mid Feb for week and a bit - anyone around?
Ahoy peeps, I’m on the 2 week mark today until I head over to japow and its time to start thinking about Yens.
Usually I exchange all my planned spending aussie dollars for Yens and i normally use AusPost or travelex etc to do so, but the guys i go with usually just pull out what they need from the ATM’s whilst over there.
Now the Aussie dollar is taking a bit of a dive of late and I obviously want the best rate of conversion so I’d love to hear what you other peeps have done/will do, and if youve got any tricks or tips of places to exchange that your willing to share coz your a good egg that wants me to have more money to spend on yamazaki 12 and steam buns.

If you’re a Qantas frequent flyer, try their prepaid MasterCard. No foreign exchange fees, no loading fees and can be used at ATMs to withdraw cash. You just have to nominate the currency at the time of loading credit.
And you get 1:1 FF points per AUD spent.
I’m using mine for Canada and Japan.
Luckily I got plenty Yenola’s when it was buyin around 89/90!!!!! (1 AUD = ¥92)
Anyone’s guess as to where it’s gonna go now though?????
You could risk it if ya had a no fee visa/mastercard and just ATM it as soon as ya hit Tokyo, but if this China spooking keeps goin on like last time, ya better off doin an exchange tomorrow!!!!!
Sorry, but my balls aren’t made of crystal!!!!! ?
