Roll up! Roll up! Its back baby and its looking better than ever!!
The first year of the WSL is here with its first WCT event of the year, the Quiksilver Pro at Snapper Rocks.
Things are shaping up to be amazing. Hopefully the cyclone swell will hang around for the next week on the Goldie.
All the top guys have been right into their pre season training, whatever it maybe.. More competitions, chilling out or scoring uncrowded waves somewhere. Mick, Joel, Jordy, Kelly, JJF, Julian and Taj will all be right in the hunt to take the first event win for the year.
Guys like Brett Simpson, Jeremy Flores and Matty Wilko will all be hungry to improve on their results from last year.
We also have some new rookies this year. Matt Banting (AUS), Riccardo Christie (NZL), Wiggoly Dantas (BRA), Italo Ferreira (BRA), Keanu Asing (HAW), and Dusty Payne (HAW). Keep in mind Dusty has been on tour in the past. All names above will be very interesting to watch.
For now ladies and gents, sit back get ready and watch the circus that is the WSL unfold for 2015!
Event kicks off Feb 28th
See youse at Snapper! Yeeeww!!
Round 1 is live!
Day 1 highlights. Oh yes!
Sorry for the late update folks. But as you have probably already realised the Quik Pro has had a bunch of consecutive lay days with little too no swell.
The WSL has decided to extend the wait period from the 11th of March until the 13. For those of you really really bad at maths, thats an extra 2 days
Lets hope this little tropical cyclone sitting out of Qld brings some decent swell into Snapper!!

With the mens round 2 finnallllyyy getting under way today we had some solid surfing in some pretty crappy conditions. The top seeds dished it out.

Holy mother of wow!! What a day the Quiksilver Pro endured!
The blue jersey took control in round 3 with a lot of major upsets, the likes of Parko, Kelly and JJF all bowing out. Gabriel Medina made headlines today for cussing and tearing down Glen “Micro” Hall and WSL commissioner Keiren Perrow live on TV due too KP doing a bad job and getting an interference call in round 3 against Glen. Freddy P was also in the mix today trying to ride his board over a rock.
The good news in all this?? Quarter Finals have been decided with the likes of Julian WIlson, Taj Burrow, Bede Durbage and Adriano De Souza all getting a start for tomorrow.
With Medina dropping the F bomb on live TV the WSL will be taking possible action against him. Full story from STAB

Check the footage for your self…
I also mentioned Freddy P getting aquatinted with a local rock… How’s his boardslide skills?? Ha!
Round 3 and 4 Highlights. Filipe Toldedo was ripping!
FInals day tomorrow!! Stay tuned!!
Gabriel Medina sheds some light on “that incident” from yesterday. Good to see no friendships were harmed during all this. Good on ya Gabs!!
Congrats to Carissa Moore and Filipe (holy) Toledo for taking out the Roxy and Quiksilver Pro!!
Mad props must go to the runner up Aussies Steph Gilmore and Julian WIlson!
Highlights to follow!!!!

Good kid, good interview. It’s always nice to see an athlete stand up and say they made a mistake and it won’t happen again. I’m looking forward to seeing him punch his surfboard though.
Congrats to the winners and the runner-up Aussies.
