when I lived there for 6 weeks
At what point does a holiday turn into “live there”
Discuss!
Pretty sure he didn’t die there!!!!!
But did he really live whilst there?
I would say 4 weeks in the same residence/town would be my marker
Haha, which thread is that quote from?
To answer your question: If you’re renting an attic, you live there.
EDIT: Oh, I see.
I agree with the 4 week rule… When you pay rent etc…
Hopefully I will be able to say “I lived there” by the end of next year with:
Niseko, Breck, Mammoth & SunPeaks!!
Apart from Campbelltown where I grew up and North Sydney where I’ve spent most of my adult life…
Jindabyne and Sun Peaks!
the holiday ends when you work…
For me, ‘living there’ means you did all the regular things people do in life, working being one of those things.
Canberra, Sydney, Wollongong, Central Coast and 3 different areas of Sweden is my list.
Some people have never worked a day in their life!!!!!
Some people are nomadic and therefore move from place to place quite frequently!!!!!
Traditional Aboriginal People used to move on a regular basis!!!!!
Do these people never really live anywhere?????
What about Backpackers!!!!! Some might move every week or two, but surely they can claim to have lived in certain countries, even if they worked or not?????
All vaild points!
I was ultimately taking the piss outta Jez BUT it is a valid question!
Takin the piss out of Jez is also valid!!!!!
I stayed in Niseko for 4 weeks, in Zermatt for 3 weeks…I shopped, I cooked, but I would in no way say I lived there. I was on holiday.
My son however has lived for 3 month stints in Niseko studying and working, and 4 months in Jindy - working… So I think that qualifies as ‘lived there’.
It’s a strange thing isn’t it….where do you draw that distinction.
Is it when you receive mail at that address?
To work/study/get mail/etc at a certain place on a permanent basis, is to reside there!!!!!
If I go campin for a week down the coast, then I’m living in a tent!!!!!
That’s how I look at it!!!!!
People just generally use the term “staying” when they’re on holidays, but living is still a correct term in my dictionary!!!!!
but when are you “from there” .... phwwooaoaar *mind blown*
*snort*
Takin the piss out of Jez is also valid!!!!!
and a favourite pastime
