The BOARDWORLD Forums ran from 2009 to 2021 and are now closed and viewable here as an archive
This contest has changed since last year. Please make sure you read the brief and conditions in detail.
You are to design the graphics for a new snowboard including original artworks for both the topsheet and base.
There are two separate components of this contest. You don’t have to enter both but you are welcome to enter both to increase your chances of winning a prize. During the first three weeks of the contest we are only accepting entries which would suit a women’s snowboard. During the final three weeks we are only accepting entries which would suit a men’s snowboard. You are only allowed to submit one female design and one male design. You can enter one category or both categories.
All artworks must be completely original. Do not base your artworks on any existing characters, movies or games. We are looking for completely original ideas and all copyright laws will be taken into consideration during judging.
We are awarding three prize packs: one overall winner and two runner-up winners.
FYVE will also be on the lookout for talented graphic designers which they will consider employing. This in an incredible opportunity to gain paid employment with a leading snowboarding brand!
OVERALL WINNER PRIZE:
<li>An all-expenses-paid trip to the FYVE Snowboard Camp in Japan for seven nights. The prize includes: return airfares (from anywhere in the world), all transfers, accommodation, coaching and lift passes.</li>
<li>A 2015 FYVE snowboard featuring your winning artwork, custom-built to your required specs (size, shape, flex and camber profile).</li>

You must submit your design into this thread by replying below. Instructions on how to post images on the forums can be found here.
You must submit your design into this thread on JPEG template.
If you would like your name, website URL, Facebook and/or Instagram linked to your design, please state these details when submitting your entry.
All entries will be posted on the FYVE and Boardworld Facebook pages. Your submissions may also appear on the FYVE and/or Boardworld Instagram accounts (we will tag your account, so please make sure you provide your details).
You can only win one prize. For example, if you submit two entries, you can’t win the overall prize and runner-up prize, or both runner-up prizes. We will only count your best entry.
All artworks must be completely original. Do not base your artworks on any existing characters, movies, games or otherwise. We are looking for completely original ideas and all copyright laws will be taken into consideration during the judging process. We reserve the right not to publish your design if any copyright laws have been broken. All copyright laws must be upheld.
All artwork and/or photography used should be original, or sourced from credible royalty-free providers.
The artist maintains all rights to their artwork. FYVE Snowboards and Boardworld will in no way use your designs for any other purpose other than stated here.
The winning designs will be a one-off print for the winners. There will be only one snowboard printed with the winning artworks unless agreed to by the artist.
This contest is open to worldwide entries.

You must submit your design for a male snowboard after Tuesday, August 26th, 2014 (midnight AEST), and before Tuesday, September 16th, 2014 (midnight AEST). You must not submit a female graphic during this time.

Designs will be reviewed and judged by a panel of industry judges.
Designs will be judged on the following criteria: originality and idea, artwork quality and professionalism, artwork aesthetic to suit snowboarding, and how well the artwork fits the snowboard.
Popularity on social media does not affect the outcome.
All artwork is to be designed at 300DPI, in AI, EPS, PDF, or JPEG format.
If you are working with a non-vector artwork, make sure you work on a canvas sized at 1200mm x 280mm.

Please download and design your artwork on the PDF template.
Do not submit your artwork using PDF template. We will only require the PDF file if you are one of the winners.
