(Yohann loved the #NOJEZ board)
you do know Yohann was the bearded guy, not the one behind the counter…
Well…this is awkward…
Snow guns have been blasting from G2 up. The CLC is getting a nice little cover but its all man made. Still haven’t been into the alpine for a few weeks but pictures look good for opening riding on emerald. It’s gonna be interesting with the warm temps coming this week in the alpine.
I’ll post some cool pics from work tomorrow.. Very exciting news

We will be coming soon. Just waiting for the mountain to open.
Dylan tagged me in this video on Facebook. Haha too funny.
Very funny! Still pretty bad that Whistler is building more and more infrastructure and less houses. It’s bad now and only going to get worse.
You know how you said you’ll give me a run down on the ins and outs of what i need to know for my lvl 1 jez, you still have todo that, and imke wants to tag along aswell, going to try do it in december or jan

I think that’s actually the best way to do it!!!!!
They do the opposite over here, and it shits me to tears!!!!!
You might have to pay a bit more, and be on the ball when it comes to findin accomodation, but once ya set the proper infrastructure makes everythin run smoother!!!!!

As a business, it’s definitely the best way to do it. And since everyone and their dog wants to go to Whistler, it’s totally a viable option. (why would you do it any other way). People will totally even commute from Squamish and even Vancouver to work at the mountain so Whistler can afford to “make more money” than accommodate more staff.
Also, since there is always queues for the mountain, Whistler totally wants to give people more options to be off the mountain spending their money rather than all their eggs in the lift ticket basket. Someone that spends $200+ on goods and services is probably just as valuable to the mountain as a punter who spends $100 on a day pass and rides all day but brings lunch from home.
Point of the story, it sucks for Aussies and Canadians to live there due to the rising cost of housing.

No problem, mate.
I would also strongly recommend you both read my original post in this thread: https://www.boardworld.com.au/forums/viewthread/2596
It covers everything you need to understand, perform, and teach in the CASI level 1 — and a bit more. I guarantee you this is worthwhile reading, and combined with the stuff I will show you, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t absolutely kill the course.
Dylan if you book your course through the mountain as staff you get a discount.
So it has finally been decided about what’s going to happen on the new gondola cabins. It has been a source of complaint and argument in whistler wether or not people will have to take their skis or boards inside with them or if the racks will in fact be mounted on the outside of the cabins.
I was lucky enough to be present when the final decision was made between mountain management, maintenance management and Poma managers that the racks would go ahead!
Starting on Saturday we began mounting the racks so far we have done about a third of the cabins. The whole process should be all done by Wednesday to then start final test and checks on the gondolas

Not sure where people get the Queues thing from, unless it’s a public holiday thing, or a massive dump, or openening day, but I never experienced massive queues in the two weeks I was there?????
Maybe I was lucky?????
And with two supermarkets in the village, you can do Whistler cheap if ya wanna!!!!!
I think you can do Whistler on a budget for sure.
Weekends and public holidays get busy, but it’s pretty smooth sailing mid-week. Obviously powder days bring out more people (stop calling in sick you lazy bums! haha), but that’s to be expected. The mountains are freaking huge, so there’s plenty of space to play!
Wilmshurst, that sounds like a good decision regarding the cabins. I used to hate being crammed in there and then have to make sure all the equipment stands upright. What do you think?
