Hi folks,
I’ll be traveling to Charlotte on June 3rd to get settled in preseason. I was planning to get a bus to Jindy then cab then skitube or something like that. However I’m struggling to find any buses that go from Sydney-Jindy on that date (or 2nd June is fine too). I’m also happy to train to Canb then bus to Jindy if that is doable.
Does anyone else have to get to Peri/Char/Thredbo pre-season? How are you doing it?
I might also consider driving but since I’ll be spending most of my time on-snow I’m not so sure whether it is worth keeping my car at Bullocks all season. (bad for the engine maybe/won’t have much use for it etc).
Just wondering what your thoughts were on the best way to travel to the mountains preseason
Cheers!
Go read mine and Mattyp post in the perisher thread…
Let me know how you get on and I am sure Mum will pick you up at the furthest point you can get too. (it would be good if you guys could coordinate arrivals/schedules)
If that’s only Canberra then it might cost ya more than a couple of bottles of Champagne.
I do also remember a lot of post in the Jindy From/to page on facebook around that time of year.
Also might be worth calling Perisher HR for connecting up with one of their staffers. Speaking of why not PM Andy. He said he was heading down prior to the long weekend.
Spoke to mum last night and she said there is a bus run by the council from Canberra to Jindy.
She did say that she would get both of you to Perisher from Jindy if needed.
She is going to get the bus details for you guys soon. Mattyo if you see this it must stop in cooma too?
Wow Oz! Thanks so much for this! You’re mum is awesome!
Change of plans, now I only need to get to Jindy. Looking forward to hearing about the council bus. I will check out the Peri thread and those other options as well.
Cheers :D
Travel booked for June 3rd
If anyone is traveling preseason from Syd to Jindy this is what I found to be a good option:
Murrays bus:
Sydney (central) - Canb (Jolimont Centre) ($30 + $20 excess for snowboard).
Monaro Transconnect bus:
Canb (Jolimont Centre) - Jindy (bowlo) ($15)
No Greyhound?
They have the ‘Platnium greyhound” with free wifi.
Nice! I just went with Murrays because the community bus lady suggested them.
Just looked at Greyhound times for that day and I would have had to leave an hour earlier. Yay for sleep ins
Haha!
Yay for the sleep in! Haven’t had one of those for month!
Won’t be getting one until next weekend!
