Need help/advice for a new board

Arbor make great boards, but my pick would be the YES. I’m just a huge fan of their CamRock profile and I think it would suit your needs perfectly. It’s the most versatile profile on the market, in my opinion.

Yes, full rocker is fun, and it can certainly be fast. What it lacks is stability, both in the park and on the mountain.

Don’t normally disagree with Rider but I have to stick up for the Draft here, not for the sake of it but because I’m just being honest about my experience!
I’ve had two Drafts now and I haven’t found stability to be any kind of problem. I’m not entirely sure but I think the griptech (wavy edges, magnetraction style) might make a big difference with this.
I have a Draft because it is super fun, playful and flexy for mucking around, but I have never had a problem stability wise, anywhere on the mountain.
I love riding freshly groomed slopes and doing my best to bomb it down carving and I’ve never found it wanting. I’ve ridden it all around the park, not in the biggest jumps but everything small and medium without a problem. (My husband also has a draft and he rides the bigger jumps without issue, I might add!)

You’ll probably be happy with either board though, I reckon. YES and Arbor are both sick companies. Might just come down to size availability, bargains you can find, and which graphic you like better grin

Demoed an Arbor Whiskey (I think, that was the name) last season. Not a fan of the full rocker. But they’re grip tech is awesome though.

I agree with rider26, YES boards looks good for you. I personally prefer some sort of camber in my board. Right now I’m riding a Never Summer Proto HD for my everyday board. It’s rocker in the middle and camber from the inserts to the tip/tail, so it’s the opposite of the YES profile.

All good, cords. I’m definitely not saying the Draft isn’t a sick board. I know it is.

I’m also not saying you can’t carve, ride fast, bomb runs and feel stable on a rockered board. I’ve definitely ridden my fair share of full rockered boards (I own two), and I do all the above, but comparatively, they just aren’t as stable as a board with some (or all) camber in the profile. Full rockers are the loosest, most unstable boards on the market. It’s a fact.

GripTech does give enhanced edge hold, which does help for sure, but that’s not the stability I’m referring to. And it’s not just stability — but pop, energy and carving performance. That said, what it lacks in stability, it makes up for it with an easy-to-ride and playful feel, which is super fun to ride!

In my honest opinion, I feel CamRock offers great versatility in all conditions, and the mellow flex of the Basic will be a lot of fun and great to progress on. Both boards are sick. I’ve always been a fan of Arbor. Either way Jimmy is going to love his new board. shaka
