2014 Mt. Baker Legendary Banked Slalom

An event like the Baker LBS is THE contest snowboarding should have in the Olympics.

It’s the great leveller, as evidenced by the ‘real’ snowboarders celebrated in the leader board throughout its highly lauded history.

Notice the board at 0:36? It’s a Slash. Hmmmmmmm, it’s the same shape as my Slash Straight, but with a “Weekday Warrior” topsheet I’ve never seen before?

Ya I was googling it to no avail hahah. Pretty sure it’s Pat Bridges board. I saw him riding the board with that top sheet in snowboardermag’s instagram doing legit euro carves.

I love how Terje’s switch time is better than Kearney’s winning time haha, and passing someone during the run lol. Terje best ever.

Wicked seeing Russell Winfield interviewed - and even cooler seeing him pronouncing Terje’s name as accurately as any Westerner I’ve ever seen give it a shot.

Gigi gave out a limited run (30) of “A Tribe Called Slash” ATV Hubs around this time last year and Pat scored one of those - so maybe it’s something like that? It would make sense that it’s Pat’s board, because it’s likely he would have been filming from the chair.

And yeah, Terje.

He definitely did well with the Terje part but shame he murdered his surname. Definitely no judgement though because it is an extremely easy mistake to make when english spelling doesn’t have the letter ‘Å’ and replaces it with ‘aa’ which sounds nothing like it.
Same with Ståle becoming Staale or Stale.

Scandis are so used to english speaking people saying their names the wrong way that most of them won’t even say anything and often will end up even introducing themselves saying it the wrong way.

Norwegian is such a cool language!

God the LBS is so cool. I really want to give it a go one day.

I love that Terje rides it switch to give someone else the chance to win. But his time is still faster anyway

I noticed they only put his time up for the “Switch Race”
Was he the only person doing it switch??
Cause I will ride it switch, even if it kills me, if it means I get to compete directly with Terje   Probably end up looking really bad by comparison, but I don’t care.

@Andy: No they have a regular race and a switch race. Terje won the switch race. He didn’t win the regular race (which he rode regular of course, not switch). So he didn’t really ride switch to let someone else win.

Terje has raced switched before when everyone else was racing normally - at a Thredbo boardercross in the nineties. Yeah, he still won.

I wonder if he changed his angle? I know he rides forward stance, curious if he changed it to the same forward stance but switch or just ride backwards?
