Split board advice!

Hey Guys,

haven’t posted for a while! sorry! I’ll get back onto it! anyways, I was wondering if you have any recommendation for split boards for girls! I started skii touring (oh no skis) but think it would be heaps good to get a split board. at the moment I can snow shoe to get my ride but yeah. do you think a split board is a good idea?

Currently snowboarding/skiing Verbier. will head to the states middle of feb to stock up on gear YAY! heading to Colorado if anyone is around.

Thanks!

Look into the women’s K2 split out this year. I forget the name but it’s the equivalent of the ultra split.

Jones - Women’s Solution for sure!

If it fit’s you for width, length, weight etc then it’s one of the best splitboards that I know of.

I went split boarding the other day and I love it.
When I buy a split it will be the Men’s Solution.

Jones boards are built separately as skis so they work properly and edge while you’re skinning up. And they come with Karakoram clips, which is a big deal because boards with normal clips will bend apart while you ride them in the middle. And it feels weird when you ride and kinda deadly on cat tracks lol.

Have a look

the jury is still out on whether building two individual skis is better than splitting a board. I think building a solid board and splitting it will create less of a gap.

Plus, if you’re buying Jones, definitely get one from a store where you can examine it closely before buying. They have a history of low quality. Everybody that I know who’s had one has had problems.

OH…. that’s good to know. Thanks for the heads up Marc

What do you ride?
I was personally looking at the Jones Solution because it’s one of the few split boards that comes in a wide. I would prefer an arbor or maybe a burton but they are all too narrow.

Hey, I ended up selling my K2 Panoramic and I got a Burton Freebird. The Freebird is awesome. Totally surprised Burton is dropping it next year as there will only be the landlord and the spliff.
Anyways, you want something wide, eh? If it was me, I’d get a Rossignol XV split wide or the K2 Ultra Split wide. Venture let you choose the width of your board. Hmmm, can’t think of others right now though. Definitely spend some time on splitboard.com

Thanks guys! Will check them out hopefully I can my hands on some splitties and have a play
