Warrior Dash tomorrow! With Ajay!

Apparently I’m in a team to do the upcoming Sydney one as a “practice” for tough-mudder.

Looks pretty tame but will be interested to hear what you think of it.

Yeah tis a bit tame with obstacles etc but it’s good to get out and have a run! Gotta have more showers at the end though, we were waiting forever and freezing. Ended up washing in a puddle! Nice.

Hah I just noticed some of your pics on fb. Looks like good fun!

Not going to bother with much in the way of training but I reckon it’s going to be freezing (Sydney one is in June)

Might be a silly question but how do you reckon your clothes/shoes will pull up? I’ve got this and then tough mudder later in the year. I’ll need to wear decent shoes for the running section but I don’t really want to replace them after each event.

Yeah my shoes have gone to God - I left them there. There was no way I could wash the mud out of them!!! I was well overdue for a new pair anyway. I don’t know what the answer is - because I agree - you don’t want to go replacing them after each event! Give them to your mum to wash, as Mr. Radpants would say! wink

I threw mine in the wash twice after the race and they look better now than before the race lol.

Best Prawning Footwear ever!!!!!

I would not recommend volleys at all. Especially if you are doing Tough Mudder.

I have done TM twice, used the same shoes they held up decently. just wash them alot lol

Thanks for the input!

I’m planning on wearing asics kayanos for tough mudder. I haven’t looked into it at all yet but my mates said you run something like 25km so I fear the volleys wouldn’t cut it. Can probably get away with my other pair of asics xtrainers for the warrior dash.

I don’t like my chances of sneaking them into mums new Bosch, might just hand rinse then chuck them in my machine and hope for the best.

Don’t know if my usual attire (speedos) will cut it in winter though might have to go with my 2xu stuff.

I’ve washed all sorts of shoes in the machine before, and they come up sweet!!!!!

same….volleys, uggies, x-trainers…chucked them all the washing machine at one point or another.

Never known anyone who has lost a toe to a lawn mower. I’m sure it does happen though.

You do know you can buy steel-capped volleys, don’t you? So my comment still stands wink

My dad had the same pair of KT26s, to do the lawn mowing in for my whole childhood. haha

Hah I saw people wearing volleys today and lost them in the mud! Cheaper option but maybe not for running that distance? Dunno

Yah machine wash would be fine - I was going to chuck mine anyway that’s why I left them!!
