Our resident Pirate had a little mishap at sea, something about Jack Sparrow and Treasure I believe.

What happened?????
Whatever it was/is, here’s to a speedy recovery, mate!!!!!
Yep, poor bugger.
He told me sort of what happened last night when he was high on morphine.
He was on the research boat near Ulladulla. Said he got snapped by the winch. Hand got pulled in to it and the rope somehow tied him to it. He bellowed like a cow and he got thrown around quite a bit…luckily the fuse on the winch blew and it cut out.
Said he’s snapped a few ligaments in his fingers, got cut up and quite bruised and battered in his arm, shoulder and neck (was in a neck brace at hospital). Think he has to see a plastic surgeon about fixing the ligaments in his fingers and was saying he hoped to be out of hospital by monday.
All of this on his wife’s birthday!
Not at all good but seems like it could have been a lot worse as well. Hopefully he is on the mend and up and about again soon.
Oh that sucks. But yeah I think that kind of stuff can be even worse (I’ve seen OHS videos that I can’t unsee 
)

Growing up in a fishing village I know quite a few that have not lived to tell then tale of being caught by the winch.
Trying to find a positive - at least he’ll be at home more and I might see him around.
I thought it was going to turn out he had stolen cursed treasure and was now a pirate zombie!
After going through the wringer it probably looks like one in the moonlight.

I am home from hospital after 4 days. stoked still have my arm 
. Takes a while to type atm so will fill in more down the track
lesson learnt: don’t text/fb whilst drugged up to the eyeballs…oh and don’t fight potpullers/winches cause you will lose

Haha partying? i have been to North Gong a few times and Howling Wolf once I think since i have done it. Drunk, crowds and crutches do not mix so yeh, avoiding it unless its a bday or something like that. Tried to go to parkside once to see a mate DJ but that lasted literally 30 seconds and i walked…well hobbled, out.
Whats your recovery timeframe mate?

It was kinda cool at the start, but then it drove me nuts within a couple of weeks!!!!!
Drivin a manual car with ya right foot that points in the same direction as ya leg, can be a freaky task!!!!!

Now that is nuts! How much longer you out for? looks like a long rehab to me?
I am out for 10 weeks if all goes well. Have to go to syd hand hospital tmrw and a few other specialists later on.
