I know everyone wants to be me, but you cant just go stealin my words
Where’s ya G, yo?????
I be G errydayyyyyy for dayyyyys.. Let’s be real…..
Turns out probably should have gone to Hotham, all the rain has the shapers confused at Falls….
Yep, Hotham was mighty fine on the weekend, especially Saturday. Bluebird, perfect vis, low wind, very cold and a nice cover of fresh dry pow in the morning. It’s probably the driest snow I’ve ever ridden in Aus. I was thinking how un-Australian it was, plowing into a big lump of pow and not being smashed off line.
things afoot at Hotham… in their dreams anyway…
here you go, the vision for the future of Hotham, released today for discussion and comments.
Hotham Mount Hotham Draft Master Plan
Thanks, Tambo! So it looks like Hotham Central will be getting a Casino and Davenport will get a hospital and cinema.
I do wonder if all this development will actually bring enough income to justify its cost, or whether we lodgies will continue to get slugged to carry the cost of the Hotham board!
Having said that, some of it probably makes sense eg. moving the road away from the pedestrian area of Hotham Central.
. moving the road away from the pedestrian area of Hotham Central.
This will be a major improvement to Hotham!!!!!
Probably the only thing I didn’t like about Hotham was there’s no real feelin of an inclosed village of sorts!!!!!
Shame they can’t structure the first para correctly!
Mt Hotham Alpine Resort (Mt Hotham) is the Victoria’s premier destination ski resort, offering a variety of ski terrain to suit all levels of snow sport enthusiasts. Mt Hotham is a key tourism attraction in north-east and has strong physical links with the nearby towns of Harrietville, Bright, Dinner Plan and Omeo and is a significant contributor to the local, regional and state economies
Second one is no better!

Fixed!!!!!
Well that too!
But nope I was not talking about either of those.
how about
“Mt Hotham Alpine Resort (Mt Hotham) is <strike>the</strike>Victoria’s premier destination”
or
“Mt Hotham is a key tourism attraction in the north-east and has strong”
And the second para might read better like this…
“Mt Hotham has a significant recreational opportunity afforded by its unique location and environment”

Hotham Mount Hotham Draft Master Plan
Now this is interesting….
Will take a better look later.
To be honest, the biggest PITA for Hotham is the stupid bus, but I guess there’s not much they can do about that.

They should build a Snow Tram!!!!! (Seein as it is Vic after all)
So after a quick look, I can see;
3 new ski areas but no new lifts to those areas.
2 new lifts (Mt Higginbotham & Imagine to Summit)
1 new ski bridge over the road between Summit & the top of Heavenly.

Yeah! then they’d need an awesome ticketing system, which we’ve also got right here in Vic! Oh wait…
It’s already possible to ride from village chair to Blue Ribbon along the creek there. I wonder if there is sufficient fall to keep the trail going all the way to a point along the creek adjacent to the start of the Davenport home trail, then they could have a lift to the top - no need for buses (can already ride Davenport trail down to Village so that direction is covered).
