No, it’s not.
The quality of the work defines the person who produces it.
Is that the reason you don’t call yourself a photographer, writer, musician, mtb’er, skateboarder?

It could be if that was all there was to it, but clearly, it’s not.
The fact that I’m a better writer and photographer than many people who do it professionally also comes into play - as does the fact that even though I occasionally get paid to write and/or photograph, I don’t identify myself as either (unless I’m actively engaged in those pursuits at the time). Why do you think that might be?
