STYLEWARS Cancelled for 2013

Official word below:

STYLEWARS CANCELLED DUE TO INSUFFICIENT SNOW

I am extremely sorry to say that the resort, Falls Creek has given the word that with less than 3 weeks before Stylewars is due to kick off, that they do not believe it possible to get enough snow to build the quality of slopestyle that Stylewars is all about. There currently is no slopestyle course in Falls Creek due to current snow depths and by this time of year there is normally a rocking slopestyle with large transitions.

So the decision has been made to cancel the event for 2013.

We had the choice of waiting a bit longer but as there are 60+ internationals registered this year we decided that the last thing everyone needs is to book flights and accommodation and be forced to cancel at the very last min or worse still run the event with a below standard park that everyone goes away complaining about like other events have done in the past.

So hopefully we will still see you all in Australia for Stylewars next year for 2014.

Sorry for the bad news. I am sure it hurts us more than you!

With some luck Falls Creek will now get the biggest snowfalls of the year, the rain will stay away and the park will get built for the locals to get a long awesome spring session. But Stylewars will have to wait for 2014.

i was up there on the weekend and i think there would have easily been enough snow to push around into some mega kickers, especially seeing as they got another 16cms last night. Its a real shame i was planning on heading up for it too

Disappointing for sure. I was really looking forward to Stylewars.
