Finding music for your film.

We found guys struggling to find artists for their clips last round. We also feel that as an independent filmmaker, it’s your responsibility to use independent music. It is just as good and probably better than most of the music that you get force fed anyway.

So how do I find original music? there are literally thousands of places online where music can be found. Triple J unearthed always source Australian talent. Soundcloud.com, Bandcamp.com Reverbnation.com are also awesome worldwide music communities. I guarantee if you email these artists that they will be down to help and donate there music for a shout out at the end of your film. Musicians get there music out there in another way, you guys get music for your clips and everyone’s stoked.

We also decided to make it even easier for you guys to get awesome independent Aus/Nz tunes. We contacted a whole bunch of guys that we think make epic music and asked them if it was cool that filmmakers use their music in our film fest! So check out the links below. All of these artists opened up the rights to all their music for use in Yew.tv Snow Film Festival 2013 only, remember, to be selected as a judges choice film, it must have original music, either source by you or from our list below. To use any of the below artists music you MUST give them credit in your film and have purchased their music for personal use (if it’s not clearly free music). GOOD LUCK!
