TR: Apex Predators, Fires, Alcohol, Camping and a bit of Surfing.

Dolphins have caused surfers many injurys. The way they jump out of waves, a few surfers have had their backs broken by Dolphins landing on them.
They swim incredibly fast +60kmh - if one was to hit your leg underwater it could fracture.

Spinner dolphins swim in packs in excess of 100. It would be exy to be caught in the middle of 200 dolphins.

Pfft, part of the risk. Sharks don’t hunt people. I surf in shark infested water all the time. We all do!

What happened to NBG sounds like a big fish having a feel of something unfamiliar. Unfortunately White Pointers feel with their teeth and Tiger sharks don’t feel, they just bite. Most people survive White Pointer attacks (those that die, die from blood loss over a longer period because of no basic medical intervention).
Bull Sharks are the nasty ones but they are often not huge - they cause an injury that can’t be repaired or treated on the scene).

Not that I’m playing down what happened, it’s an incredible story that very few surfers can tell.
